Anyone know what the current rate is :?:

I am going to Ibiza in 6 weeks and I want to keep an eye on the exchange rate so that I get the best deal. Not sure whether to buy now or wait a bit :? Any advice.

If I were to take all my sterling money to Ibiza would I get a better deal :?:

Local travel agents are offering €700 for £498 is this good :?:

I doubt the rate will change that much, you can shop around but unless you're buying thousands I dount you'll save that much..

However, I always find thomas exchange to be really good

The rate in the markets is £1 : 1.467 today which is down from 1.482 late last week. Sterling fell due to figures released this week showing slight weaknesses in the British economy. The market has factored in a Labour victory in the election and also expects interest rates to remain at 4.75% when the Bank of England meets later this month. Barring some unusual event, the exchange rate should remain pretty steady over the coming weeks.

You wont get the rate quoted above as the banks make money by quoting a worse rate to you but you should be looking to get around the 1.42-144 rate. Travelex.co.uk is usually quite good and I think they are currently giving 1.4325 to the pound, but as Mr Lynch said its not going to make much difference to you unless you are changing thousands of pounds.

Shop around though as you should be able to find someone that will giv you a good rate and wont be charging commission at the moment.
