Hey Jay. CSKA are followed by people who like basketball, and they have a rather devoted core of fans judging by the one match I've attended (versus the Los Angeles Clippers.... CSKA won).
Nevertheless, basketball is not one of the top sports around here and the team wouldn't be where it is without the financial support of their benefactor/owner Mikhail Prokhorov (very rich guy.. he owns large stakes in 2 major metals companies).
The sport has gotten a bit more notice around here lately, after Russia won the European championships last month.
