Essential mix from Amnesia last night.....

personally i didnt think it was anything special to be honest, i wasnt there but listened to it on the radio and thought eddie kind of saved the day...the first 3 hours from the terrace i thought was dreadful, zane lowe lost the plot. They switched rooms at 3 for the start of john digweeds set which kind of made me fall asleep, it was so flat, it wasnt til eddie came on til i started to enjoy this broadcast...the highlight of the mix was at 4.40am when he dropped inertia - the system, what a tune.
personally though, i dont see why everyone gets so wet about radio 1 wknd, its totally overated imo, i am glad i just stayed in the house with a few beers counting down to friday when we go.

thing is, you say zane lost the plot. but the crowd loved hearing oasis, nirvana, dizzee live, blur, etc, etc.

i mean the line up meant it was never gonna be one for the underground dance purists (although when diggers played On Spec – Knights Of Columbus - i think - from transitions vol 1 it wasn't too bad) but that was never the intention.

radio 1 ibiza events are about having fun, loads of big names crammed into the line up, a big party. that's exactly what it was.

i've heard blur, oasis, rolling stones, the beatles in every club in ibiza at some point over the last 10 years or so..........and it's usually been the highlight of the night.

explain that one.

Sy, I agree with you about Tongy, it was actually pretty decent I thought. What was his last tune, it was very Daft Punkish french house stylee.

Regarding Zane Low, I thought he was ok, not my bag, but like Grego says, it's all party music and it's meant to be fun.
As for Digweeds set, it was disappointing. He can be brilliant, but I dont think that hour was very memorable, the best bit seemed to come at the and just before he finished!

As much as I like Eddie, I thought he wasnt his best either. Took him about 30 mins to get going, what was he playing for the first half hour? some sort of dull techno which was going nowhere. He should stick to melodic tracks, it suits him best.
Going to see Eddie for Cream closing, hope he's better then!

Not sure mate, i'll stick it back on for a listen

Yeah Tongs was the best, I have to say after listening to all of it at work today (yes i know it's not like being there) I would have been disapointed to have had to endure a rammed amnesia for such poor music.

Kissy Sell out was the worst IMO, joker music for chavs racked up on base. Orrible

Radio 1 could do much better.

I wouldn't have thought so either but having saw Zane Lowe @ Manumission last Friday I really enjoyed his set. It was cool hearing The Killers - Mr Brightside in the main room and watching the Amnesia dancers try to dance to The Beatles - Eleanor Rigby!

Top Night!
