Eriksson OUT Psycho IN

Lampard, Beckham and Gerrard cant play in the same team.
Lampard and Gerrard seem half the players they are in their clubs.

Sorry Morbyd, but I agree with The Chirpster about Lampard. He's been pretty poor in an england shirt (as has Gerrard).

Ferd message from Tom for you 'even the Chelsea reject Kezman can score against Spain' ;)

This season, true... he hasn't even gotten up to full speed for Chelsea yet.

Last season, he had some good games and some average ones, as did the whole England squad.

In Euro 2004 he was very good for England.

I'm also not so sure he and Gerard can play in the same side, though.

sorry JJ but I'm afraid he's the man for the job

I think you have a point, but luckily (for us) I think old Pearcy needs a couple of seasons in charge at City before he is anywhere near the finished article, if Sven was to go (which I doubt he will before the Poland & Austria games) I think they would go for someone like Mclaren, Curbishley or would prob go abroad again for someone like Cappello, as theres no way the FA could afford Mourhino as Abramovic has more money than all of England ;)

maybe in a couple of years ;)

yer totally agree with you, Pearce is not ready yet, but he is definately an England manager in the making, what with his passion and playing experience, he would be a manager the players would respect and give there all for.

The manager cannot be the only one to blame. The players have also got to take responsibility for last three terrible performances. A few of the players know they comfortably on the team sheet every international game, they need to be dropped and must earn the right for a recall.
People say that Beckham is past it, yet you are guarenteed he is going to give his all every international game he plays.

The 4-5-1 only works well when you have got a lone centre forward who can hold the ball up and win things in the air, e.g. Van Nistelrooy at United. Owen has neither of the attributes needed for this particular formation. So we either revert back to the 4-4-2 or search elsewhere for a centre forward who can play in this position. I understand Peter Crouch would be ideal for this position but due to injury he couldn't play, Dean Ashton for example would be an ideal candidate. He has loads of Under 21 experience, is strong in the air and can hold balls up, but ....... you know Sven will not pick him whilst he is playing for a Championship side (with Robert Green being the exception).

It just frustrates me that we have such talented players who lose to teams that we shouldn't be losing to.

Was waiting for that. It was a deflected goal actually... ;)

We dominated the whole game. We shouldve won that. Oh well, can still be first if results go our way. Second place is in our hands too.

Thanks for that Morbyd. Hope we the USA in the group if we qualify. You guys are through already arent you??

It will be good to see Shevchenko, who some people rate as the best striker in the world (not me personally) at the World Cup

Throw the Beavis mo fo to the sharks.....

Talkabout no emotion! Becks said it all in the post match invw. "the manager.....Steve Mclaren had some harsh words."

I think they've forgotten who Sven is!

i actually cant wait to see owen hargreaves play in the world cup

Ah well maybe a bit of humble pie is just what england need. I was lucky enough to be at the game and can tell you i have never seen so many grown men cry  Great day all round, good banter with the english lads. On the topic of Sven i think he is very poor. Probably the best squad of players theres ever been to pick from, altho i think Stuat Downing should be given a proper chance on the left. Has to be either big Sam A or Alan C. Am a fan of Steve McC but maybe new faces alround the coaching staff is whats needed. They definately have the right players to win world cups just lacking the guidance, support and motivation. Anyway, that was our World Cup final and we are delighted. Are you Scotland in disguise ;)

Get him out!! Players need to play for someone who is going to motivate them, someone with a bit of passion, not that silly c*** Eriksson!! Although Stuart Pearce hasn't got much managerial experience, he has been there and done it in an England shirt. He will get the best out of the players like he has done at City!

The players need a shake up, Gerrard isn't the same player for England as he is for Liverpool, Ashley Cole can't pick men up, Rio Ferdinand is too casual, fat Frank Lampard has never done anything in an England shirt!

We need to try some different players, Carrick or Parker in the middle, get rid or Rio, surely we must have better cover for right back than Luke Young.

Unbelievably frustrated after tonight’s performance!!

Hands Off!!!!!! Pearce stay's where he is!!!

He's among the better strikers, but I don't think he's the best.

It's Ukraine's first time at the big dance, though the better old Soviet teams were actually often largely made up of Ukrainians.

In club play, Dynamo Kiev (Ukraine) and Dynamo Tblisi (Georgia) were the only Soviet teams to win European competitions... the Russians never won until CSKA brought back the UEFA Cup this year.

If Russia can't make it to/through the playoffs, I'm sure everyone here will be rooting for Sheva.
