Enter 2015

compared to other enters in the past I found the vibe to be mostly very flat. not all night, but for big chunks of the night. I was not the only one thinking that.

you know for me it's sometimes difficult - I've been going to enter since day one. season one and two have been amazing, last year has started to dwindle and this year has just been VERY meh for me.

mind against played some nice music on terraza but again - where was the atmosphere?

Exactly that. Seemed a bit subdued to me

Not put anything on here since my trip to Enter on the 2nd of Sep (Solomun in terrace)

It was probably also my worst trip of all since I my first trip to Enter. It was so rammed from 12, you couldn't move anywhere. It was by far the busiest I'd ever seen it,in every single room, reminded me of Space closing when the car park shuts. I couldn't believe it was like that in September.
Music was decent in bits, but also lacking in atmosphere, maybe as people were getting pushed all the time.

Danced from 6 ish to Hawtin C2C Dubfire which was less busy but I didnt think the music was right for that time, a bit too heavy going.

No doubt I will go again, but I hope the crowd is better in that occasion.

By the sounds of things (and I actually only made it to the Sven & Richie night this year) ENTER struggled early in the season, but the last 4 dates of the season seemed to have done a LOT better in terms of numbers?

yeah while the last few dates have been better in regards to attendance, the season as a whole wasn't a big one for enter. the opening had OK numbers, but then there was a long stretch of weeks with low numbers.

I know that is a bit too early but maybe no more Enter residency next summer?

I think Richie fell out of flavor for a lot of people (including the supporting djs) and the Enter concept is stale. If it's back next year, they will struggle unless they don't make some changes.

Fall out of favour with supporting DJs? How do you mean? For Enter 2015 no one artist (apart from him) ever played one of the rooms more than once. Not sure if that was a good or bad thing?

I'm going for bad. No consistency on the terrace. I know they were dealt a diminished hand with the arrival of Hyte and had more limited access to acts they had previously been heavily associated with, but Richie had the opportunity to elevate one of his own.

Any number of Minus acts could've stepped-up and made the terrace their own given a good run. Failed to act though. Now they'll go into next season with exactly the same problem, only it'll be harder as their brand's stock overall has fallen in 2015.

And they got caught-up in B2B mania with their ENTER.Sake concept. The thought-process presumably being "this'll draw the crowds down early"

Well, did it???

It did when I was there, but it was Richie b2b with Maceo Plex so I'd suspect would draw a larger crowd than most of the others.

I wonder what this meant for the rest of the night though. I suppose they'd be hoping for busier earlier therefore more takings at the bar. But they gave heavy discounts on entry for those in before midnight and if they were anything like me the people who turned up early weren't spending that money saved on lots of extra booze to make up the difference, they were pocketing it!

For example:

I arrive at 0200hrs: pay 50 euro entry + 2 bottles of water = 66 euro total

I arrive at 1130hrs: pay 20 euro entry + 3 bottles of water = 44 euro total

I'm aware that I'm probably at the thriftier end of clubbing mentalities so this probably won't apply to most!

I think on the whole the business model of getting you in early at a cheap rate pays off! No matter how much you think you will not spend more money if you go early, you still end up having a few Vodkas at €15 a go if they end.

I just think the night needs to be a little more fun again. All this minimalist decor and lighting gives a very serious vibe. Not talking walking gogos and clowns but just a little more colourful lighting.

Not sure.

I do think it's got another season in them. I think I agree about consistent terrace acts. Having Solomun there completely f*cked my night as it rammed was from 12!

I'm just saying his supporting cast this year was weaker than years past. Most of it was the big names finding something bigger, but I can't help to wonder if some of the DJs aren't drawn to Richie like in years past.

So according to hawtins enigmatic final Enter video it's all about frequency next year. What ever that means :lol:
