as it aint happening in ibiza, i guess its ok to talk about this one

much as i love egg, it goes through phases of getting a bit dodgy in there.

it's been good, its been bad in there over the years. i have noticed recently a few more dodgy types in there. in fact blokes who look not unlike the unfortunate Mr Zaiden

note kidz that this happenend inside the club, and at 3 am am on a packed 'house' night. not some bass/breaks type night.

i also think, judging by the bricks on the wall behind him, that the photo of Mr Zaiden was, in fact, taken inside egg

what kind of crazy psycho brings a gun to a club? I love the fact that most people have to fly to get to Ibiza, thus they can't really bring their guns with them... makes me feel a little more safe

"Police are looking for a light-skinned black male, about 6ft tall and in his 20s. He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, yea theres no doubt in my mind that their gona catch that guy. Still chuckling from that one. A question i would ask he how did he dander into the club with a gun in his back pocket :\ America today eyy.

Maybe it's normal in America to have a gun but you'll find most people in England don't actually have a gun hidden away under their bed that they would even consider taking to Ibiza

Russ, what night was it @ Egg on Friday - one of their normal nights or a private party??

The vast majority of people in America don't have guns, much less handguns

Aside from that, Tyson's comment did not specify any particular nationality so not sure where your point is relevant.

Blimey! 8O

Not sure if this thread will get deleted as apparently having email problems is also a banned subject these days! 8O  ;)

...But on a serious note - this is horrible isn't it? I hate the thought of people carrying guns around London. 8O

I want to blame the hip hop fraternity and it would be so easy to jump on that bandwagon if it was a breaks night...eeek.

Maybe the metal detectors at the Ministry are a necessity after all?

Errr he's American and he's talking bout people going out with guns in that it's almost expected, now that might be 'normal' behaviour where he's from but I can rest assured that when most English people get ready to go out having their hand gun on them isn't the top of the list of their priorities

Well you know what it's like, as well as having to smuggle llamas, babies and false teeth thro the door we mustn't forget our guns

Going back to what Mark said tho it being a private party it reminds me of when Home first opened and what happened there.

:? Did I miss something exciting?

 Well unless you want to get involved in a ruck between Dane Bowers and Mark Morrison

When Home first got its licence it was a 6am close which you need in London, but the week before it was opened to the civilians as a clubbing venue (and remember this was when they had Oakie and Lawler lined up as weekly residents, Danny T was a guest etc) they hosted a private party after the MOBO Awards, there was some ruck going on between the likes of Mark Morrison and Dane Bowers  and guns were involved  , the police got called and Westminster Council revoked their license and it had to shut at 3am from then onwards which you know for London clubbing is just pointless. We actually used to go to Home 9 - 3 and when it closed head to Ministry for the late shift

Anyway the point of the story is if I was Darren Hughes (who's invested so much of his money into Home which had the potential to be an amazing club in London) and I saw Mark Morrison down an alleyway I'd shoot him with my gun

funny part bout all this is that when i was in ibiza 2 weeks ago we saw the little 'gang turf war' so some C***S obviously think its essential to pack their mach 10s. Seems like the whole worlds gone ****ing loopy...

Personally i fink its a gd idea metal detecting people that goes into clubs ( like ministry, and more should catch on) cos i dunno bout anyone else, i really dont wanna be dancing next to some ***** with a gun in his pocket!

cant we put down the guns and just get our dancing shoes out instead of ak47's?!

Its bloody madness.... i neva think that sum1 may have a gun in a club but i guess it does happen..

Mayb its bcos i dont live in a big city... we just try to smuggle dancing aids into clubs:lol:

My mate got a 6 month ban for sniffing poppers in my local club! There not even illegal!

Your assumption that it's 'normal' behavior where he's from is what is inaccurate.

Was shocked to hear about this - the guy was shot 4 times in the head 8O 8O 8O

is clubland getting more violent? I saw an absolutely huge fight in the key last night - 2 guys beating the **** out of another bloke with evil grins on their faces and a lady prepared to bottle my friend trying to break it up 8O 8O 8O

Plus a big fight I saw at space

Increased number of coke heads? drug wars? Lax security? What's going on?

By saying that I was glad people couldn't bring their guns with them to Ibiza, I wasn't saying that most americans/people have/carry guns. I think it's funny that because I'm an american, you take my comment in the context that I think it's normal/expected for people to carry guns out with them... Having not said anything about the majority of Americans having guns tucked away under their bed (or implied it), it shows your class Barbie - prejudiced, and quick to form assumptions. BTW Morbyd, thanks for trying to talk some sence into Barbie...

I think that, in general, there's this mistaken impression around the world that everyone in the US is running around with guns and that's why there is more gun violence in the States. The reality is, there are other social and cultural factors that add up to create this unfortunate problem.

The European view that guns=violence is similarly flawed. Take Canada, where there's something like 2 guns per person but overall gun crime is less than in much of the developed world. Guns are used for hunting.

Then you've got the UK. Low gun crime but, if the British press is to be believed, there's a serious problem with knife crime.

Anyway, back to the subject of this thread, unfortunate anywhere when you've got violence in nightclubs. Clubs should be a place for people to relax and have a good time. Even worse when there's an incident in a place that you frequent as it strips away some of the veneer of safety.

What a horrible thing to happen!

I can't imagine any sane person of any nationality thinking its ok to carry guns out clubbing. From my personal experience with my American friends, I've never known any one of them to own a gun.

The only place I remember seeing guns in clubs was when I was in Israel, but by law they have to keep it with them at all times.

I don't know my statistics about Canada or USA... but personally don't know a soul that owns or carries a gun NOW...., but I do know of people who live on farms or out in the woods who use guns to chase coyotes away from their livestock. When we lived in a small community in the middle of nowhere, lots of people used guns for hunting and trapping.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but isn't it Switzerland that has more guns per household than almost every other "Western' country? ... google it or wikipedia it.

This is very odd, I was going to go to Egg after Type on sunday morning, but was too lazy so went to Formulate next door instead

Arent private parties in clubs normally held on weekdays not weekend?? Surely they mustve paid the venue a hell of a lot of money to hire it on a friday night. Maybe as it was a private party the security was very lax, if there even was security.

I still feel pretty safe to all the club nights I go to.

They could have just hired the upstairs room or something like that Ferd. I remember they did something like that for Fat Tony's birthday ;)

I've just found myself defending clubs and clubbers to no avail here in the office. I've just had to listen to the women here go on about how "these clubs attract this type of violence ..." WTF!!!! They have absolutely no idea. I found myself getting really p*ssed off . They really wouldn't have it when I said I never see trouble in the clubs that I frequent in London. In fact, I've seen more aggression and p*ssed up idiots at the parties at work
