I think I might have tried to look at ways to stop at the point where my arms were hanging off and they looked like hunks of dead meat....8O
 
I used to work at a drug rehab organisation and I met quite a few addicts who had arms or legs amputated. The worst thing is that some of the worst addicts run out of veins in their arms and legs, so have to resort to injecting in other places 8O :?

I heard that they were trying to encourage some addicts to put it up their bum instead - almost the same high but without risks of disease and ruining of veins.

Don't think it was a very successful campaign :?

I don't think it's that easy, pups.

Heroin addicts keep injecting themselves to avoid the abstinence syndrome, not to feel the effects of the drug like cocain addicts do

I was being facetious Silv, I dont for one moment think its easy to give up but reading the article, she has tried to get into rehab so she has obviously thought about giving up seriously, but I really think once your limbs start necrosing your doctor might intervene and get you onto a rehab course somehow....
 
i saw a programme once about crack and smack..............bascially in it they did an experiment on rats with both. the rat who got hooked on smack who still drink water, sleep sometimes, whilst continually using/wanting the drug. when it died it had gone to lie down and knew its number was up. the rat on crack did nothing but take crack until it died, no water, no sleep, no food, no running about it...........it just wanted crack, when it died it was in the process of trying to get more crack.

I never quite figure out how people can be dumb enough to go down that road... everyone knows smack is highly addictive. Plus you've got to inject it, for f**k's sake!

people usually start off smoking it though

people also don't realise that it only takes 3 days of use (i.e. every day for 3 days) and then when you try and stop you'll already be dependent. So it's really easy to fall into the trap.
