Earphones

Can anyone recommend some to compliment my new Creative Zen Touch?

They have to be bassy as f***.

I've been reading that the Sony MDR-EX71SLB Fontopia's have amazing bass because they sit in your ear canal rather than just in your ear but the build quality is meant to be shite.

The Sennheiser MX500's seem a lot more robust but not sure how good the bass will be as they are a conventional earphone design.

Any other suggestions?

My husband has a set of the Fontopias and they are INCREDIBLE! They are really rich in bass. One of the coolest features about them is that it drowns out any external sounds...I wouldn't go riding a bicycle in heavy traffic with these in your ears. My husband has had his for over 5 years now and hasn't had any problems. There doesn't appear to be a build quality issue with the ones he bought.

The EX71 version of the Fontopias haven't been out as long as that thought so he must have an earlier model.

Yeah, probably so. I can't speak for the EX71 version but the ones he has have better bass than his Sony V700 headphones. The V700s are a bit bulky but much more comfortable. The Fontopias go pretty far down into the ear. I know some people don't like that at all...

I cant believe people use in-ear headphones. Do you know how much you;'re damaging your hearing?

the sony's are excellent, I have the previous version but still the same type that fit into the ear canal, very comfortable, great sound and block out any other noise.

As for quality, I have my paid for four years and use them everyday via a minidisk player and they are still going strong. On the negative side, the cable can get twisted easy unless you wrap it around you minidisk or walkman. apart from that they are brill. :P :P :P

Isnt that more to do with the volume rather than in-ear or normal headphones??

well they can increase the risk of infection by pushing wax further into your ear and definitely not to be used for sharing with others :(

Those Sony's changed my life.

Seriously.

(oh, and if anyone has a spare 'small' size rubber thingy, could they pplplllleeeeaaaaasssseeee let me have it! I've been listening with one 'small' and one 'medium' for far too long!)

And I find the cables better for untying, as they can be pulled apart in the middle.
