My 3rd time in Dubai and easily the best one yet, only back this evening jet lagged and depressed coming back to crap weather, completely skint, etc, etc had a nightmare going over got caught up in those massive delays @ Heathrow, 6 hours delayed, then a stopover @ Istanbul followed by another flight to Dubai, bad coming back as well had to get 3 flightrs ill pay the extra to fly direct in future.

Anyway when i got there all was forgotten about had an amazing time id dearly love to live there you would be hard pressed to get anywhere in the world that has a better quality of life, for me it is without doubt the best city on the planet, it's got absolutely everything you've ever dreamed of and more, where else would you get a place that has an indoor skiing arena http://www.skidubai.com/ it was amazing.

Id never been skiing before never mind snowboarding, i choose snowboarding they were all laughing at me saying i was mad as you need to be an experienced skier before you go snowboarding and they were right i thought it would be easy ha ha i could barely stay on my feet but still had a great time, great atmosphere there everyone enjoying themselves young and old.

I'm not exaggerating either when i say Dubai would rival Ibiza when it comes to clubs, maybe not in terms of capacity but some of the clubs are amongst the nicest in the world, if anyone's ever there seriously check out http://www.jumeirahbeachhotel.com/dining/360_degrees/
takes your breath away it's so beautiful, also http://www.trilogy.ae/ is amazing the rooftop terrace reminds me of Pacha in Ibiza but with a much better view, we were in the VIP section last week drinking Moet and Vodka all free ;) Armand Van Helden was on and he played a stormer although i didn't catch all his set the lure of the VIP was too much:lol: David Guetta was supposed to be on there on NYE but for some reason he pulled out but you'll never guessed who took over, none other than Todd Terry, i couldn't make it that nite myself as i was otherwise engaged but one of the lads i spoke to said it was a top nite.

Also on NYE in Dubai was Paul Oakenfold, Hed Kandi @ the 400 club http://www.timeoutdubai.com/events/review.php?id=4986
and best of all for me @ 360 http://www.platinumlistdubai.com/userpix/2_nyeve360_1_1.jpg
along with countless other nites too many to list.

The http://www.jumeirahbeachhotel.com/dining/the_apartment/ is another classy club for the Dubai jet set elite as is the http://www.peppermint-club.com/ has to be seen.

I also went to see Jake Duval @ Zinc who was very good and the legendary Norman Jay as well who was exceptional, played a great set, every other week there are top class dj's going to Dubai , it's a seriously classy city there is so much to see and do, we went for a boat trip along Dubai creek and went out to sea on a fancy yacht my mates rich friend owns which was cool, had such a cool time.

Also on and of particular interest to the ladies no doubt was the http://www.mydsf.com/ which was amazing some brilliant bargains to be got, i picked up some trainers and some cool Armani and FCUK t-shirts, also i must mention the stunning http://www.malloftheemirates.com/ it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say this is the best shopping mall in the world, has to be seen to be believed it has absolutely everything you've ever dreamed of and more including Ski Dubai, we spend 6 hours going round it and still didn't get to see all of it, you would spend an absolute fortune there, especially seen as the ladies love shopping so much this would be orgasmic for you

The famous gold souk as well is a must visit for some amazing bargains, haggle with them as well and you could walk away with some really good deals.

There are some seriously stunning lady's in Dubai as well, with it being the most cosmopolitan city in the world you get all sorts;).

I could really go on about Dubai for hours and hours it's really that good if you've never been i can seriously seriously recommend it, as i said id move there tomorrow if i could get a well paid job (you need a fairly well paid job there) but that's easier said than done but im working on it, ill upload some photos i took over the next day or two, i have to get over the shock of coming back to crap weather and people moaning:confused:

I was there last year for a week and really enjoyed it. Stayed in the Royal Mirage which was fantastic. Glad we didnt stay in the Jumeirah Beach or any of the really well know hotels as even though Im sure they were very nice they all seemed a bit tacky and more like shopping centres with too many people around.
360 degrees club was a fantastic location and had a good night there although I had/have one gripe with most of the clubs. They all seemed to only let mixed couples in. So if you were a guy, you had to be with a lady to get in. Not going to be too easy if your a gay couple on holidays. They wouldnt let us in to 360 degrees unless we had ladies with us so we found two single ladies who were happy to escort is in. But trilogy was a different story and there wasnt a chance of getting in there, so we gave up.

I would definitely go back though as the weather, hotel and service was fantastic. Also went over to the East coast to a place called Dibba and went snorkelling with sharks and turtles which was amazing.

apart from the beaches and sun, is there a massive amount to do that's not man-made? I suppose you could visit the desert

It always strikes me as a Vegas by the sea.
Does it have a hippie element to it at all or is it all new build?

Sounds like you had a ball though, beats UK drizzle anyday!

The Burj is like nothing you've ever seen before we had afternoon tea/coffee there last year, be sure to dress for the occasion and take some photos (even though your not supposed to but everyone does anyway) have fun:)

I knew you'd have a great time, ive nnever spoken to anyone who went there and didn't have a great time, look forward to the photos.

Mate unless your seriously qualified in what you do finding a good job is extremely difficult trust me, ive over 9 years experience in my field and ive been applying for jobs right, left and centre in Dubai but no joy, employers would sooner give the jobs to Indians, etc who will work for a fraction of what Westerners will and they have the similar qualifactions, id move there tomorrow if i could, im still job hunting myself...good luck anyway.;)
