After last week's #Merky Festival, it was the turn for the second Ibiza Rocks Day & Night event. Like in the previous one, Mistajam and the resident DJ crew kept the good times going around the poolside stage during the afternoon ahead of the live shows on the main stage in the evening.
Shy Luv remixed the biggest single of last night's headliner ("Be The One") so it made perfect sense booking them.
The Manchester duo, formed by producers Sam "Karma Kid" Knowles (who's in charge of the vocals) and Jake "Armeria" Norman, were accompanied by a live drummer and played a mix of upbeat and mellow songs including "Joy Rider" and "Shock Horror" from the Shock Horror EP (2017) and others like the singles "Time" and "First Fires".
Infectious dance pop and funky rhythms... definitely a good choice as an opener.
Dua Lipa is one of the hottest new artists of the past year. The 21-year-old English singer, with Kosovar-Albanian parents, enjoyed instant success with her first singles and as featured artist on Martin Garrix's "Scared To Be Lonely" before her self-titled debut album was released at the beginning of june.
After a long instrumental intro by her backing band, she showed up on stage to the roaring delight of the young crowd, kicking off with "Hotter Than Hell". "No Lie" (her collaboration with Sean Paul, who played on that same stage three weeks ago), "Lost in Your Light", "Blow Your Mind (Mwah)" or the mentioned "Scared To Be Lonely", to name just a few, were some of the next tunes. As expected, the ending song was the smash hit "Be The One" with the whole crowd singing and clapping along.
Dua Lipa brought such a good vibe, dancing and having the time of her life on stage... mesmerising.
If you don't want to miss the fun, like One Direction's Niall Horan (who was spotted in the VIP with some of his pals), here you have all the info you need:
