drunken shagfest?

Strange... I saw no public sex when I was in Ibiza.... not the first time, not the second time, not even the seventh time.

But if you do see some sex on the beach, or in a hammock, or by the pool, or in the toilets at nightclubs, please do take some pictures and enlighten the rest of us!

Hey I'm just reporting what my friend told me. When I told her I was thinking of going to Ibiza for a holiday, she said the (one and only) time she went, there was shagging by the pool, in the jacuzzi, in the hammocks, and on the beach as she walked back from the hotel late one night(s) after clubbing. She didn't say she'd seen sex in the toilets of the clubs, I'd heard that from somewhere else. I didn't ask her what I now know to be pertinent questions, such as which town she stayed in, which hotel, which season she visited, etc, etc. But I'm sure she reported her experiences to me as she saw them.

It wasn't her scene, and she advised me not to go to Ibiza for holiday. I didn't know if what she witnessed was commonplace or one-off, so I thought I'd post here to get others' experiences.

Google takes you all over the internet, and I came across this article:

http://www.askmen.com/sex/player/paris10.html

Is it truthful? I have no idea, that's why I posted...

In my online search for hotels, I also came across this page:

http://www.ibiza-hotels.com/clubplayadenbossa/

Why would they print that the hotel is inappropriate for children, unless there is (tolerated and allowed) activity outside the privacy of one's room that would be inappropriate for children to witness?

Regarding the challenge to take pictures of said activity, well, the participants may not want to be captured on film, and the flash might be a bit disconcerting, but I can certainly ask, and will definitely ask to watch ;) So, if I report back that this was my Ibiza experience, you just may have to take my word for it.

For those put off by my stated desire to get laid as much as possible...sorry. I guess we just have different moralities. And perhaps it's more socially acceptable to leave it as an unstated desire, but I just find that such bull****. So, I'll respect your morality, and hopefully you can respect mine, and how I choose to live my life. But, if you want to make sarcastic comments, go for it. I really don't give a **** :D

Personally, I think any single male who says he's not looking to get laid in Ibiza (either straight or gay) is either a liar or abnormal lol :) I can't speak for single women, having never been one...

Well, my Aussie friend, I must say that you have stated your position very well.
**applauds and retracts mockery**

Just got in from a night out and finding excuses not to go sleep, so I'm probably not in the best shape to say this. But here goes.

Generally, I've found that people going to big nightclubs for the music, vibe, etc. are less likely to be in a pick-up/pulling mood. That goes double for people not getting by on drink alone. Not that it doesn't happen, but that's what I've seen.

If you go to the more bar-oriented areas, the West End of San Antonio for example, then there is pulling a plenty going on. The 2 big San An nightclubs (Es Paradis, Eden) also seem to have more people on the prowl than you'll find in the other major clubs.

Ibiza is not one big sex fest. Your friend was either extraordinarily lucky(or unfortunate?) or exaggerating. But people are there to have a good time and for some that means hooking up.

Re: hotels. Generally if they don't recommend families stay there it's because they attract a young crowd which could be rowdy or noisy at late hours. That doesn't mean there's people having sex in the swimming pool or big all-night orgies around.

If you are staying in a hotel that is full of young people, it's quite possible your hotel bar or pool area is a place where you could meet people. Please take them out for a few drinks and then back to your room before attempting any shagging activity. Common courtesy and all that

By the way, we highly recommend this hotel site: http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/hotel-guide/ (you should definitely book through them ;))

I have to agree with the majority. I have never witnessed the scenes discussed in the op. Lots of people looking beautiful = Yes, people having sex whenever & wherever takes their fancy = NO.

You should definitely go and check out for yourself and report back on here with your findings :) :) If you are wanting random sex with random people down the breakfast cereals isle of the supermercado, you might be disappointed though.

For the residents and visitors to Ibiza alike, the image described in the op is unpleasant to say the least, and largely bourne of stupid teenage tales of bravado.

Morbyd, you must go around with your eyes closed.

I know loads, and have met quite a few hardcore 'clubbers' (hate that word) - non-beer boys/girl types - good looking people in fact that have done/regularly do pull and have sex while in Ibiza.

I hate the way people pigeonhole everyone into the boozed up/shaggfest or pill head/raver brigades.

So, aussie_dude, go ahead and shag away .... but do it in style and with someone beautiful!

;)

Ya, Drew... eyes wide shut

Of course I spoke in sweeping generalizations, but that's my personal experience and I think it's shared by many.

In '02 I went to Ibiza without the missus and with a couple of single guys and neither of them got any... But we stuck mainly to the Ibiza Town harbor bars and the big clubs - they're not meccas for pulling.

ive been in ibiza 7 times and never saw anything like that, im not saying it doesnt happen it obviously does like every resort on this planet, or ive been going around ibiza with my eyes closed

you should perhaps dip your toes in the "west end" of spotlight - the "meet me in ibiza" section of this website

shagfest

If you want you can pull any place in Ibiza. That depends on your standards; like they say what happens in Ibiza stay in Ibiza. You may not see the undercoat of ming until the morning.8O:oops::D

No, totally not homophobe. Sydney is one of the most gay-friendly cities in the world. Just straight, not gay. I made it clear I was looking for women, and you recommended I go to a gay club. Which I actually found funny ;)

Perhaps you're too quick to label someone a homophobe, and should look in the mirror to note the one too quick to judge...

''Public sex.That's proper nawty''

On this trip I saw two very public displays of affection in the coves between Chiringay and Sa Trinxa. The first one was witnessed when I had to climb down a cliff, with only one path being available to the next set of rocks to continue. I had to pass quite closely to a guy being orally serviced by his girlfriend right in one of the coves - quite a sight in the bright sunshine that day! They smiled and said hola (well, he was the only one able to - she just waved) while I passed by and then continued with what they were doing as I made my to the other cove for a nice swim. It would have been quite rude to take pictures of them, though it was quite tempting! Didn't want to spoil the ambiance.

The other display was a guy servicing himself in front of two women while they giggled at him. No pictures there, either, they didn't look as friendly as the first couple!

ahem, it was a joke, not a judgement- in fact I thought your response to my (clearly) sarcastic suggestion was pretty good, and taken in the spirit intended- but I can see why after a day of being bashed on here your defenses might be up;)
