now explained by the ibiza sun:

another death some days ago when a group of spanish friends were celebrating in a house the last day on the island of one of them taking heroin (plus two girls in hospital)
Drug Related Death.
3 youngsters, 2 girls & a boy, supposedly organised a party amongst themselves in the afternoon to celebrate returning to the mainland of Spain after holidaying in Sant Jordi. However, the event turned into a tragedy as the 3 youngsters allegedly took a cocktail of drugs & passed out for more than 10 hours with only 2 of them waking up. The boy apparently died whilst sleeping from the effects of the drugs.

and yet another death last night in a famous afterhours which-every-year-is-less-afterhours after an american guy mixed different drugs (plus all his friends in hospital) :!:
Tourist Dies Of Drugs At Disco.
A 29 year old American tourist of Indian descent apparently died after taking drugs he had bought before going out for the night with 3 friends. Seemingly once inside a disco in Playa den Bossa in the early hours of the morning, the young man started to feel ill & was expertly treated by the first aid services at the disco until an ambulance & medical crew arrived. However, it appears that after an hour of treatment it was impossible to revive the youngster who died whilst his 3 friends also needed treatment for the drugs they had consumed earlier in the night. Later in the week the Italian drug dealer who allegedly sold the drugs to the American tourist who died was detained in Playa den Bossa after the other tourists identified him as their supplier.

oh, and lets not forget the new trend: falling from balconies. six persons died for this reason, five of them british or irish, of a total of eleven tourists that tried to emulate superman. it would be interesting to know how many of them were drug-influenced.....
Balcony Death Fall.
A 25 year old British tourist was killed last week as he allegedly tried to pass from the balcony of one tourist apartment to another located on the Avenida Dr Fleming in Sant Antoni last week & tragically fell to the road below. Later in the week a second British youngster fell into an alley way behind the Play 2 disco after presumably falling from the balcony of flats located above the club. The young man was rushed to hospital in a grave state for emergency treatment.

Woman Tourist Falls.
A British woman tourist fell from the balcony of her appertment in central Sant Antoni but apparently avoided serious injury after her fall was broken by an awning & because she landed on some plastic chairs on the terrace below her apartment.

the same british woman was seen earlier screaming and running naked around the hotel..... ..... so we go back to it would be interesting to know how many of them were drug-influenced. and also back to what stephen mentioned at the beginning of this thread, there is now a clamour from the hotel owners and chamber of commerce that the terrible image of the island for drugs is affecting trade and takings.....

Bad August For Sant Antoni Shops.
A survey carried out by the shop keepers association in Sant Antoni shows that 45% of the shops have recorded less sales in August 2006 than in the same month in 2005. The drop in sales on average has been 7% whilst only 15% of the shops asked recorded up to 4% increases in sales in 2006. 40% of all shops taking part in the survey carried out throughout the town said that August 2006 was the same as August 2005. The shop keepers seemingly blame these poor results on what they see as the poor image of the town far too often associated with young tourists getting drunk & taking drugs as well as partying 24 hours a day. They also suggest that the length of stay of tourists in Sant Antoni has dropped affecting sales in shops with many visitors just arriving for a few days of partying & nothing else.

i bought an enormous chuppa chup for 18 euros and a bert and ernie toy for my nephew (not cheap!).

i like to think im doing my bit 8)

I think its a mixture of drink, drugs and the euphoria of being on holiday, some people just seem to forget their safety awareness! 8O

Oh my god! this is really scary!! 8O What happens if you are caught? Even with very small amounts?

I read similar posts to this before I went out and I was thinking sh1t, searches everywhere you go etc etc, exactly the same as you. I came back last week and to be honest I was surprised at how loose security seemed to be. The most I got was a rub-down outside Pacha and that was it! Everywhere else I just walked straight in, including Space on Sunday. I didn't see the guardia civil outside a club or in the queues once.

Maybe we were just lucky, I'm not sure. Even in the West End in San An we very rarely saw any trouble or any sort of heavy police presence. If anything I was surprised at how relaxed the search policies on the door were, I've had far more thorough searches going out in London!

I think it's like anywhere else, if your going to buy and take drugs out there then just use your head and be sensible, you have to remember your in a foreign country so give them a bit of respect. You'll be fine as long as you don't take the piss. It's the same when buying beans.

We got hold of the Rolex's and the ones we had were fine, infact they were very clean and didn't leave you wondering what your name was and feeling like sh1t the next day.. (Obviously the good batch by the sounds of things!)
