8O 8O The 4 people I share my office with at the moment are having a very "indepth" conversation about the horror's of drug taking, the evil it leads to and how "Heroin is a gateway drug"!! Heroin??......... a gateway drug??? 8O 8O :lol: :lol:

I think they are expecting me to join in at some point to agree with them all :? :?

..... I nearly corrected them, but then I decided against it - not worth getting embroiled in a conversation with people like this..... the little they know about my life the better.... :? (Plus - its not my usual office today so dont really know them well enough to get involved - but I am trying to keep the smirk off my face.....
 
I used to work for a drug charity so I can always deflect the suspicious 'and how do you know that?' questions.

addiction when they're punting it out in 2 to 10 pound bags to school kids..

It was a bit of blow in my day!!!
 
Just heard "intraveneous injection" mentioned now - these people want to get a job at Promises Clinic in Arizona..... they're naturals :lol: :lol: :lol:

I think they watched Trainspotting once.....

Hmmmm normally I would start onto a massive wind up BUT its an American company and they are already starting to talk about doing random drug testing for the company here in the UK and the last thing I want is to add fuel to the fire on that action.... 8O ;) ;)

Apparently discussions are afoot!!! They feel that because of the stupid wages they pay staff that they are entitled to know this information and that people are performing at the optimal level.

I have always told them that I refuse to take part as its against my civil liberties and that until they take into account tests on people for prescription drugs and alcohol abuse its unfair.....

They asked everyone in my office (300 people?) to give blood and urine samples once about 2.5 years ago. We were shocked!

While I hate needles, I didn't actually mind the blood test because they checked us for all kinds of stuff and I hadn't been to the doctor in ages.

My whole department refused to give the urine test (and I think we weren't alone). We figured it could only be a drug test and, while no one was worried, we believed it to be in violation of the labor code.

They haven't tried that trick again since then...

Yup!!

But, some of our consultant staff are on almost 100k (and all under the age of 35) they get free travel wherever they have to go on business, (taxi's trains, plans whatever)given a nice posh flat (free) cleaner thrown in, and basically their wages are their own every month..... the majority piss it up the wall on beer, spirits and lap dancing clubs 5 nights a week in Newcastle - about 10% of the company would tick "other" on "What do you spend your hard earned cash on?"

Basically drug testing would be a waste of cash I reckon - now if they did "are you pissed" testing - they would sack half the workforce in a year... :lol: :lol:
