Err ...how exactly does that route from the Airport to Ibiza Town work? Is it some kind of test that you have to pass befroe they let you stay on the island? :lol:

If you're coming from the airport into town you just have to take a right into Playa d'en Bossa, then travel through Figueretas.

Or alternatively you can take a left at the Playa d'en Bossa turn off (away from Playa d'en Bossa), drive till you get to the San Josep road then take a right and you have straight run into town.

There was an interview from 1982 with Abel Matutes in Augusts Pacha mag. Very intereting read. It took me a while to actually place when it was held as the issues in it are still around today.

He is a very curious man though. The title of the piece was something like "Ibiza's Godfather" and his dealing do seem like some exploits of Michael Corleone. It seemed to me that the political side could easily be a front to a big gangster type character

I read up a bit on him since coming back and I am undecided on him. Since the interview he went on to sit in the Spanish parliment and have professorships at Madrid (I think) university, which wouldnt it in with a career criminal.

So what is he...

a) an honest/brilliant politician thrust into the limelight because of his outstanding intellect
b) a corrupt politician
c) a politician that uses muscle to secure his position
 
Zaplana, who is in the same party than Matutes, once said: I'm into politics to get very rich.

IMO Matutes is a businessman who got into politicis to make his business easier

i think matutes is part of all of these, some parts more than others and not so much a.:x

in fact, most politicians could be categorised under a, b or c (and there are more too).:?
