¡Buenos días! i've never been in here before so Hola everybody.

As you can see my spanish isn't all that but i am working on it :D

Thats because i'm off to Valencia in a couple of weeks. Going to the Tomatina in Bulon but after that me and the misses are going to need some disco..

¿Dónde está la mejor Disco house music

See i told ya :D

Hola Kes, what kind of house music you like more so that I can help you?

In case you like funky-house and trendy places, one of the best choices in summer is the terrace Budhha del Sol as I've heard (I prefer going to underground and more electronic clubs). This plce can include appetizer and cocktails while watching the sunset (it's located in a quiet place) listening to chill-out music, afterwards dinner with an Asian show, and finally funky-house to dance to, or just the last option if you want to go later. The set up and decoration is told to be pretty beautiful.

It's located near the city, inside a Natural Park. A 10-15 minutes drive from Valencia, taking the freeway to El Saler, just beside the City of Arts and Sciences, and when this road finishes at a roundabout, you have to turn right. Just beside Budhha del Sol there's a nightclub specialized for weddings with a clear blue (or is it green?) neon sign you can see from the road saying "Aqualandia".

There's a bus service too. If you're interested on it I'll try to find more information about this.

Hi Tiger,

Budhha del Sol sounds very bien... Taking the girlfriend so should be perfect. Funky house is what we're after. I do like tribal, deep techy stuff but might be a bit much for the girlfriend... would be useful to know though ;)

Not worried about buses. Probably get a taxi...

Whats this underground? Do you mean the style of music or is it the name of a club?

I'm not into trance or hard dance anymore. Don't mind jungle/Drum n Bass so long as there's not too much attitude in the crowd.

Cheers,

Kes

What I refer to with 'underground clubs' are not commercial or not Ibiza-style housy clubs. I mean more electronic music like minimal house, minimal techno, electro, techno, etc. with alternative people. Trance doesn't have much acceptation here, so there's not a regular club playing trance here.

As you're coming in August you likely won't see the city at top gear, as this is the month when most people fly away (July is much more interesting and has lots of things and festivals in the city), but surely you will find the places still amusing.

Apart from Buddha del Sol, which I have explained above, you can try on the same way (South along the coast) Apache Valencia or Puzzle. The first one is nearer to Valencia, at Pinedo, only 5 minutes by taxi, beside the sea, but they have some different rooms where they play latin music and classic dance besides the house room. You might find in it a good place though, and it has terrace too. Puzzle is pretty far, at 2kms past El Perelló, takes 25-30 minutes driving through the natural park Albufera. It's more wicked and it has two rooms (tech-house and funky/tribal house). They use to bring the most famous DJ's in the world regarding house.

Both venues are trendy and beautiful places too.

Just in the city, you can try two terraces for the first drinks or to chill out a little (they close early, at about 3-3'30 am): Ghandara, at las Arenas beach, and Lupita Beach at the gorgeous terrace Flamingo, located at Malvarrosa beach.

Housy after-hours: Friend's Club, and Sundays @ Puzzle. Sundays is upstairs the club Puzzle (not the whole club) and is more housy but a bit small. Friend's opens Sundays at 17h to 7am. It's a big covered terrace with daylight by day. They play from house to tech-house and some techno depending on hours. Lupita Beach also opens in the morning on Saturday and Sunday, but this time it's more aimed to alternative people.

On Thursday nights, the housy people use to go to the Summer Experience parties at Giorgio & Enrico, or to the Summer Addicted Parties at Café Cantante. The first one is one of the trendiest places in Valencia, and it's big, located on the northern outskirts of Valencia. The second one is quite a small club but beautiful too just inside the city.

From thursdays to Saturdays, another very trendy and classy venue (too posh for my liking like Giorgio) is La Indiana, near the center of town. I think they have closed in August though.

There's another important club called Guru but I think they closed their season in July and will reopen in September.

For the first drinks, the best place in the city is the neighborhood El Carmen, in the old center of town. There's an assorted and bustling life there.

O man... we're only going for five days!!!

Sounds awesome... tell me more about some of these underground clubs. Just incase ;)

We're staying in the hotel Neptuno near Las Arenas so probably give Ghandara a look when we get there.

Great work Tiger... Muchos gracias. We'll buy you a grande cerveza if you are about :D :D

Kes, that's not the Budhha del Sol in Valencia. That one seems to be covered. The one in Valencia is a terrace.

As for alternative clubbing, the best choices are La Flem @ Manhattan (old Jam disclub) on Wednesdays (techno or d'n'b depending on day), Disco Demolition @ Mogambo on Thursdays (tech-house, electro), Le CLub (minimal house, minimal techno, electro) and Latex (electro/minimal) on Fridays and Saturdays, Flamingo on Saturday and Sunday mornings (non-commercial house and tech-house/electro), and La Soiree on Sunday night (progressive/electro).

The best of all for my liking is La Soiree. I love it! and I use to go there nearly all Sundays. Le Club is one of the best underground clubs in Spain and is great too and Latex is quite peculiar and colorful. Some of them will likely take 1, 2 or a few weeks of rest this month. I told you this month most of the people moves to the resorts. But I'm sure you will find bustling places, especially places with terrace. There's usually raves in Valencia too. On Friday and Monday morning there's a little after-hours club with electro and minimal called Donna Donna just in the centerr of town (the rest of the weekend is a gay after-hours). And there're other smaller clubs such as Ke-House and Harvest Blue. But as I've told you, these are underground style clubs, no posh people, but no dodgy people either. Just the opposite, the people in alternative clubs use to be more friendly.

Look here for more info on clubs: http://www.clubbingspain.com/clubs.php?caid=5&lng=es

Nevertheless, if you like funky/tribal house, you may prefer the places in the previous post. ;)

Cheers! 8)
