Does anyone know if this includes flights to Ibiza??

We were talking about this this morning.
Pilchard is flying to Sonar at the same time so we're both cross.

Conclusion => Ibiza is a Spanish destination so yes.

Am researching the above tho.

Maybe it won't be so bad if they get this organised (getting passenger details etc) while on flight. Many times when I go to a foreign country I have to fill out a landing card... That could be it.

I know when I've flown into Ibiza on my Canadian passport I have to fill out a big long form upon arrival at the airport, but when on my British passport, obviously have not had to.

(((or maybe if we're reeeally lucky they'll leave us on the Hed Kandi plane for a bit longer and we'll get complimentary gifts from the trolley :o)))

*tsk* It's going to be the worst flight ever. ()

This is going to be fun... I can just imagine the golden combination of Russian and Spanish organizational prowess bearing down on our travel next month

In principle, Aeroflot already has all that information on file for both me and the missus since I bought the tickets online... I'm doubtful they will connect the dots, however :?

If you read the (language in the) newspaper report, it makes it sound like the world will end as we know it due to this for to fill in!

Whilst there may be some teething problems (bearing in mind it's introduced 3 days before we go!), I really don't see how even the smallest of airlines will develop a system to minimise any hassle. I'm sure they'll integrate it in their booking process, or email people in advance or something.

When you go to the states, it's only the case of a 20 minute extra queue which would only be spent in the baggage hall waiting for the handlers to offload your bag.

In a bit of blind optimism, and in the face that if-I-can-survive-the-plastic-bag-nonsense-that-was-introduced-the-day-I-flew-out-last-year-then-I-can-survive-anything sprit, I dare say it won't be too much of a hassle.;)

Does it mean that now to fly from a foreing contry to Spain you should provide personal information like you do when you fly to the USA?

What kind of info are they asking for?

I'm quite pleased about it, it means I've got an excuse to get to the airport even earlier

See you all at the airport at 2am (for our 6am flight   )

c'mon get real people!!

we've all been through ibiza passport control there, you're often lucky to actually have to show your passport at all.

i just can't see how the culture would change over night to enable this to work properly.

Exactly. It just means getting there at least three hours before your flight time and gritting your teeth and bearing it.

You and Irina both

Irina: "Our flight's at 10am, we need to be there at 8am at the latest, let's order a taxi for 4am"

Morbyd: "Fine.. you go. I'll catch a cab at 7:30 and see you there"

I think Dan's right... if it's just the couple extra tidbits of info mentioned in that article (passport number, date of birth, nationality) then airlines should have most of that on file and be able to collect the remainder in little time. It's just a question of whether or not they prepare properly.

control

I think it will be a cluster FCUk. It will be that some people won't have their info ready and it will slow things down. Like Grego said custom control in Ibiza is really not that tight.

  PMSL @ Irina  I love airports tho - the duty free shopping, the pre-flight drinks, my holiday starts as soon as I'm on my way to the airport
