Do you need glasses?

Just picked up my new specs from the opticians 8O

I didn't go and get my eyes tested for years, then I got a free eye test from work and thought I'd better get the old mince pies checked out! Turns out I have one eye that is basically perfect, I could read the bottom line of the eye chart :D
But the other eye is really bad, and needs glasses :( Has anyone else got this lol, one good eye and one bad eye :lol:
 
I've had 20/20 vision all my life, but when i went to eye hospital recently i could only read the 2nd to bottom line with my right eye. Wouldn't say i need glasses though.

Can't help sitting in front of a pc screen all day though can it? :?
 
I don't have to wear them all the time, just for work and driving. She said that my left eye (the good one) is basically doing all the work when I look at things, and my right eye is getting worse, and not focusing on things properly, so my brain relies on the left eye for all it's info 8O
 
If i ever get told i need glasses, i'm going straight for laser surgery.

Not saying there's anything wrong with gigs, they suit a lot of people but they aint for me, or contacts.
 
I need glasses but only for driving (don't drive anymore) and watching TV (don't really watch TV) :lol:

I love wearing them tho, I think they give me an air of sophistication :lol: Sometimes I wear them for important meetings just so I look a bit intelligent :lol:

I have exactly the same problem( is it a problem?) since over 10 years....no glasses,.... ;)
 
Yep im short sighted in one eye, i got them tested when i was 19 because i was getting alot of headache's. I never wear them tho :roll:
 
im meant to wear glasses but only wear them indoors,i look like the kid from jerry maguire

i got vvvv bad eyesight.

too much Computer time, TV, ma.....

thanks to the works healthplan, i can get a new pair of specs up to the vlaue of £150 for free EVERY year... 8)
 
i'm the same, 1 eye is fine the other is really bad. i'v worn glasses since i was 11 cos i had ALOT of bad headaches at the time too. i wudnt look rite wihtout them now tho as annoyin as they r!

I'm shortsighted in -5,25 on both eyes and sometimes I throw away one of the contact lenses and keep the other one. I can drive, go to the movies and it's true, the brain compensates the difference.
 
My left eye is very short-sighted thanks to a dislodged lense, and my right eye is long-sighted because it's been over-compensating for the left (so the optician says). I got my eyes tested when I had a few narrow escapes on my motorbike in one week, and I got hopelessly lost when I missed a roadsign on my left and ended up having to go miles out of my way. Because of the difference my perspective is knackered and so I have to wear specs all the time otherwise I bump into things!!!

Could be worse - they could have given you a pair of glasses with a patch over the good eye to make the naughty eye work harder!!! 8O :lol: :lol: :lol:
