dirty smelly afterhours

So guys, what are your favourite afterhours in london, or elsewhere if you know a good one!

I'm a little bit scared of the whole gay thing going on in Vauxhall, not a huge fan of the crowd, it gets a bit pikey in there sometimes, and there is always some random guy in there telling me how crap his life is and how he hates himself and then asking me on a date.

Dusted or jaded or whatever it's called at egg on a sunday morning was absolutely awful (I thought, but I only stayed until 9.30), with this completely hilarious euro trash gliterati crowd that blatently hadn't been clubbing before (apart from maybe sitting in the VIP arena) and seemed to hate having fun. It was quite empty too though, and maybe I just wasn't in the mood that evening... Although I did get to see Darron Day!!! he's very short. and smug looking.

But the best afterhours I went to was after being at the egg I trekked down to love bar on shoreditch high st with some scots I had met and danced to minimal techno (I heart minimal) with some of the weirdest dressed clubbers I had seen for a while. It was like a scene out of a french advant garde movie, if that makes any sense, although it was a bit empty...

So, any recommendations?

THE best aftershow was The Royal Oak RIP

The blokes behind it are now doing something on a Sunday morning at Love Bar in Shoreditch which is good but it's a bit too clean for my liking.

I like gay aftershows a la AM and Beyond, not too keen on the Egg aftershows, a bit too same as same as funky house formula.

Have to say Im realy enjoying the Vauxhall aftershows at the moment (Beyond, AM, Later etc) but you are right naddyz when you say it can get a bit pikey and the whole thing can be a bit much if your not really use to that sort of thing. But at least you know that if your feeling bad or down about yourself, you can go in there and see the states of some of people and come out feeling a hell of a lot better!! :D

Also, Vauxhall is very close to home for me so it would be rude not to pop in on the way home for a few hours.

That's why I used to love the Royal Oak so much, it gave you hope that you hadn't actually hit rock bottom yet 8O

I know exactly what you're getting at but Beyond has gained such a reputation over the years that people are beginning to get a good night's sleep before heading down there and starting their night at 5am.
Unlike fire  ...it's not all smelly armpits and society drop outs.
(although 6 Italians doing copius amounts of k in toilet cubicles and horrid, pervy muscle marys far too far up their own arses to even think about anyone elses are out in abundance  )
It's taken me a while but I'm getting really into the place - it tends to have its own anthems and a lot of familiar faces and this gives it something a lot of other clubs lack.
Admittedly - the whole gay thing can be a tad overbearing for some and I understand why a lot of people are repelled by it. 8O  ;)

Were you leaping around at Beyond on Sunday morning?

No I was a (kind of 8O ) good boy. Ended up in Heaven and left at 4am to go home where we had our own little Beyond in our front room!!!
Luckily there were no muscle marys with attitude but I swear there could have been six people in the toilet doing copious amounts of K at one stage!!.....only joking!!!

So which is seedier - Fire or Beyond?

I haven't experienced either, and would like to try the sleazier first and then work my way up.... 8)

Neither is particularly sleazy. Later @ Fire is pikier. None even come close to being as sleazy as the legendary FF 8O

It depends really on what kind of person you are. Beyond is very very gay and full of hot sweaty muscle marys (and others) with their tops off. On really popular nights it can get very packed in there and I dont really like it when it gets packed as its very hard to move around.
Fire can be a bit more mixed but still similar. Some of my str8 friends have been with me to beyond and found it a bit much but were ok in Fire.
Fire on a Thursday night is called RudeBoyz and that is very sleazy. Dark rooms and everything with all sorts of stuff going on.

Fire, definitely. Beyond was better last year tho. It's all a bit same ole, same ole now. Music is a bit dull aswell, and a s aresult the atmosphere hasn't been as good lately as it used to be... or maybe because everyone is doing K and not E so much these days.

it is Pacha yeah.. It was actually FF's night...they had this thing where. if you went naked, you got in free...so it was full of dirty old naked men, and loads of shennanigans going on fairly openly, etc etc.. Good music.
It got closed down by Westminster Council after a few weeks though, cos they didn't have a strip-licence.

did you used to go to FF spunkymonkey?

Afraid not!! They were my young sweet and innocent days in London when I was doing GAY every week!!

You could also try XXL....that is supposed to be a bit more sleazy. 8O Ive never been but the other half has.
