Berlusconi's wife to divorce him

The wife of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has confirmed
that she will file for divorce.

Veronica Lario reportedly said she could not be with a man who "consorted with minors"
after her husband attended a female friend's 18th birthday party.

She had also clashed with her husband over his party's plan
to choose certain female election candidates.

The 72-year-old billionaire prime minister said it was a personal matter
that saddened him, without elaborating.

Ms Lario is Mr Berlusconi's second wife and a former actress.
The couple, who have been married for 19 years, have three children, all in their 20s.

'Shameless rubbish'

La Repubblica, a leading Italian newspaper, said Ms Lario's decision came
after reading about the 18th birthday party in Naples.
"That's enough, I cannot remain with a man who consorts with minors",
she was quoted as saying.

Another newspaper, La Stampa, quoted Ms Lario as saying
she had been "forced to take this step".

Veronica Lario
"This really surprised me, because he never came to any 18th birthday party
for his children, despite being invited," the paper quoted her as saying earlier.

Mr Berlusconi was reported to have bought the woman a golden necklace
studded with diamonds as a present.

Following his wife's reaction, Mr Berlusconi was quoted as saying he was sorry
his wife "had let herself be fooled by left-wing newspapers".

Relations with her husband were already said to be frayed after Ms Lario had criticised
her husband's choice of young and attractive female candidates with little political
experience to represent his Freedom Party in the forthcoming European elections.
In an e-mail to an Italian news agency, she said the plan amounted to
"shameless rubbish" being put on "for the entertainment of the emperor".

"What's happening today [in Italy] behind a front of bodily curves and female beauty is grave," she wrote.

Flirting

Mr Berlusconi said his centre-right party was aiming to select female candidates
because "we want to renew our political class with people who are cultured
and well prepared".

Candidates standing for the party would be unlike the "malodorous and badly
dressed people who represent certain parties in parliament", Mr Berlusconi added.

It was later announced that Barbara Matera - an actress, TV announcer and former
Miss Italy contestant - was the only one of the candidates to have made the final list.

In a brief statement about the reports of divorce, Mr Berlusconi said:
"This is a personal matter that saddens me, that is private,
and it seems appropriate not to talk about it."

Mr Berlusconi courted Ms Lario in 1980 after watching her perform topless in a play.
They married ten years later.

Two years ago he issued a public apology to his wife for flirting with young starlets,
among them Mara Carfagna, who he later appointed as equal opportunities minister.

She said her husband had told the women:
"If I wasn't already married I would marry you right away".

In 2003 Berlusconi acknowledged during a press conference rumours linking his wife
to a left-wing philosophy professor and mayor, Massimo Cacciari.

Ms Lario has occasionally taken political positions at odds with her husband's,
such as her backing for protesters demonstrating against the war in Iraq,
which Mr Berlusconi supported.

Mr Berlusconi has two elder children from a previous marriage
who now hold senior positions in his media empire.

The Italian prime minister's private fortune is estimated by Forbes magazine
at $6.5bn (£4.4bn).

Teen pregnant after ‘swimming in pool’

A woman is suing an Egyptian hotel claiming her daughter got pregnant -
from using the swimming pool.

Magdalena Kwiatkowska's 13-year-old returned to Poland from their holiday
expecting a baby.

Magdalena believes the teenager conceived from stray sperm
after taking a dip in the hotel's mixed pool.
She is now seeking compensation from the hotel.

A travel industry source said:
"The mother is adamant that her daughter didn't meet any boys while she was there.
"She is determined to go ahead with the case."

Tourist authorities in Warsaw, Poland, have confirmed
they received the bizarre complaint.

Now for the sunbeds.

We are people that liked to sunbathe in the same spot once we find a nice spot
but if someone gets there before us, we choose another spot, No problem.

Beware the extremely rude English couple with two daughters.
Two days before we were due to leave I went down as usual to get the spot.
It was already taken with four blue towels.
Fair enough I put our towels just along.

The next morning, I went down with the towels and same 3 beds we had used
for most of the holiday were empty so I put our towels on the beds,
(where the blue towels had been the previous morning).

When I looked out about an hour later, someone had taken our towels off
and moved them along and put their towels there!!
Or so I thought.
I went back down and changed them back.

To cut a long story short, the English family had been enraged
that we had dared to take 'THEIR SPOT'
( I got the feeling that they have been to this hotel time and time again
and come to the conclusion that they thought they had a right
to particular sunbeds over others) that they had moved our towels,
but they didn't have the guts to replace them with theirs,
just left them empty knowing that another family would put theirs on the beds
and let us think that it was they that had swapped them over.

I just want to say to the lovely Welsh family who did just that, thank you
for being so lovely and understanding after I explained what had been going on.
If everyone were like you the world would be a nicer place.

Apart from that one incident I have to say we had a fantastic time
and met some lovely people ...

Andre Agassi reveals he used to wear a

WIG
2h5ps9l.gif

After admitting taking crystal meth, tennis champion Andre Agassi has also revealed
that he used to wear a wig to hide his baldness in his new autobiography 'Open'.

Former tennis star Andre Agassi has admitted the lion mane-style hairstyle
he sported during the 1990s was actually a wig ...

Agassi said he wore a hairpiece held together with pins in his first Grand Slam final,
the 1990 French Open final, and blamed his concerns that it would fall apart
for losing the match to Andres Gomez.

Before the match he prayed "not for victory,
but that my hairpiece would not fall off", he writes in "Open".

... the wig began to disintegrate as he took a shower the night before the Paris final -
"probably I used the wrong hair rinse," Agassi writes.

He panicked and called his brother Philly into the room.
Together, they managed to clamp the wig together using clips and pins.

Agassi, 39, writes: "Of course I could have played without my hairpiece,
but what would all the journalists have written if they knew that all the time
I was really wearing a wig?

"During the warming-up training before play I prayed.
Not for victory, but that my hairpiece would not fall off.

"With each leap, I imagine it falling into the sand.
I imagine millions of spectators move closer to their TV sets,
their eyes widening and, in dozens of dialects and languages,
ask how Andre Agassi's hair has fallen from his head."

It was actress Brooke Shields, who he married,
who persuaded him to cut off all his remaining hair ...

LIBYA`S GADDAFI URGES JIHAD AGAINST SWITZERLAND

BENGHAZI, Libya (Reuters) -
Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi called on Thursday for a "jihad" or armed struggle
against Switzerland, saying it was an infidel state that was destroying mosques.

"Any Muslim in any part of the world who works with Switzerland is an apostate,
is against (the Prophet) Mohammad, God and the Koran,"
Gaddafi said during a meeting in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi to mark
the Prophet's birthday.

"The masses of Muslims must go to all airports in the Islamic world and prevent
any Swiss plane landing, to all harbors and prevent any Swiss ships docking,
inspect all shops and markets to stop any Swiss goods being sold," Gaddafi said.

The Swiss Foreign Ministry said it had no comment on Gaddafi's remarks.

Libya's relations with Switzerland broke down in 2008 when a son of Gaddafi
was arrested in a Geneva hotel and charged with abusing domestic servants.

He was released shortly afterwards and the charges were dropped,
but Libya cut oil supplies to Switzerland, withdrew billions of dollars
from Swiss bank accounts and arrested two Swiss businessmen
working in the North African country.

One has been released but the other was forced this week to leave the Swiss embassy
in Tripoli where he had been sheltering and move to a prison to serve
a four-month sentence, apparently avoiding a major confrontation.

Libya says the Geneva arrest and the case of the two businessmen are not linked.

"Let us fight against Switzerland, Zionism and foreign aggression,"
said Gaddafi, adding that "this is not terrorism," in contrast with the work
of al Qaeda which he called a "kind of crime and a psychological disease."

"There is a big difference between terrorism and jihad
which is a right to armed struggle," he said.

Gaddafi accused Switzerland of being an "infidel, obscene state
which is destroying mosques," in reference to a Swiss referendum verdict
barring construction of minarets.

He called for a "jihad against it with all means."

Gaddafi was speaking before leading prayers in a Benghazi square in the presence
of envoys from dozens of Muslim countries.

Swiss nationals voted 57.5 percent in favor of the minaret ban
in the November 29 referendum backed by the right-wing Swiss People's Party.
The federal government had urged voters to reject it,
warning it would contravene religious freedom.
