When I go to London I fancy going back to a enormous chinese restaurant I went many years ago with my uncle. They speciality, I think they don't serve anything else, was Dim Sum. In Mallorca we have loads of chinese restaurant but they have very few of dim sum plates if they have!!! and I really love it. I can't get in touch with my uncle at the moment because he is in the States, I could ask him in a few of days for that names restaurant but now my mothers friend is going to London and she fancy the Dim Sum, and I cannot give her the name of the one i went with my uncle, anyone of you Londoners know some good Dim Sum restaurants in London.
I remember that the restaurant I went with my uncle was really big, with round tables, and full of waiters with trollies full of diferent types of Dim sum that came all the time to the table. The restaurant was located in China Town.
Thanks

Think I know the one you mean, it's called New World, and you go upstairs and it has big round tables there. Dum sum at lunchtime til 6pm, but they do normal chinese food in the evening. new world is on gerrard place I think..

It's great for big family things as it's not that expensive and you can get loaaaads of stuff

ooh I love dim sum.... so cheap..

unfortunately I can't help you with the one you are looking for.. it is sooo cheap to eat it here..

a friend and i went (sunday lunch / brunch) last weekend and we stuffed ourselves silly and the bill for the two of us came to $13.50 which is about 6 pounds for the two of us... yum yum yum!

Thanks! I'll give her the names of this restaurants!:D
it's curious that in Mallorca the few of restaurant that cooks 2 or 3 types of dim sum are the expensive ones or at least the plate itself it is expensive considering the ingredients and the quantity, and for what you say in London is the contrary, is a way of having lunch for a reasonable price!!

I love it too!!!!
you see as my mother is english and I have english uncles and cousins I have the opportunity of eating a good sunday roast or fish and chips, mince pies, etc when I want!!! also when I visit my family they normally take me out for good english food or they even cook for us so this time when I go to London instead of going for the english food I will like to eat things I cannot have over here, we all know that London has the most variety of international restaurants, this is why I though about the Dim Sum:D

Cocoon (the restaurant, not the nightclub) on Air St (near picadillly Curcus) does 'fusion' asian and western gourmet - the dim sum was fab and the design of the restaurant is wicked :)
