You're not going to believe this but that bloke actually plays a reeeeally good electro set...but I guess it's not surprising when you consider his musical heritage.

I heard him out once somewhere.

Know what you mean Becki....:spank: Imagine living in a place where theres at least 8 good months of sunshine a year!!!

Best thing Ive found though is give up ALL alcohol.....pretty hard for me but the first few months here... the vino and the beers just got the better of me!!

Now I havent drunk for about 4 or 5 months and Ive lost so much weight...and my little beer belly that was slowly creeping up on me has completely gone!!!

And this is proof.......I do sod all exercise (maybe climb 2 small flights of stairs 5 times a day at the best!) and I munch sooooo much chocolate its unbelievable!

Gagging for an ice cold Coronita though!!!

what you mean stuie, "i can talk":?.

lou i fancy a coronita but it just wouldn't go with todays weather in england. dull, cold, miserable, yuk!!!:x

I'd love to give up alcohol Lou, but unfortunately living in depressing, cold, rainy England only makes me reach for the wine bottle on a Friday night. If I was living in sunny Marbella I probably would try and give up ;) but there's nowt else to do here on a Friday night

you go to the gym don't you bex, is there any exercise you can work into your daily routine (non-gym) that would help burn a few calories.

walking/medium effort exercise is the best for burning fat, if you do strenuous exercise a lower proportion of fat is burned and instead you burn more of the energy you get from food. (i'm sure you know all this:oops:  ).

i also found out yesterday something which really shocked me although it shouldn't considering how good they taste. your average ainsley/baker ovens/greggs pasty contains somewhere between 500-800 calories. thats like approaching nearly half the recommended daily intake for women.

simple advice, if dieting/wanting to lose weight, don't eat pasties:?

don't give up your day job just yet!

i might do actually, selling tickets is becoming quite profitable.

sorry for crashing your thread bex but stuie, you are so camp butch:p

Don´t get me wrong Becki....there aint much to do here in Marbella either so I´d love to be supping vino on the beach. Didnt intentionally mean to give up alcohol...kind of just happened thanks to having a tea-total other half - thats the solution....a guardian that has no alcohol in the house!:D   ;)

The thing is, I'm not fat, and I'm probably fitter than most women (not saying Im fit or anything, but most girls I know dont go to the gym  ). I'm just not as small as I'd like to be, probably simply because I eat a lot, but then I burn off more too. I'm a real carb freak aswell, I love potatoes, pasta, rice etc, which I know is bad for us girlies, especially in the evenings when there's nothing to burn it off.
I know I just have to tweak my diet a little bit to get the results I want.

(Oh, and I stopped eating pasties a LONG time ago when I realised they all had about 35g of fat in them lol  )

Grego, for a bloke you know far too much about dieting ;)

I love pasta and rice but I only eat one or the other once a week and after years I don't miss it, I changed my food habits years and now I eat veggetals and fruit mainly, with eggs, fish and once a week pasta or rice and meat, I eat 2 litres of water a day and I only drink alcohol on the weekends or a estrella for lunch sometimes and I have the same weight than a year ago. The weekends I don't really care about what I eat, us the spanish love to sit around a table full of food

For carb lovers try the following ......

Buckweat pasta

Wholegrain brown rice

Sweat potato

Stone ground or Rye bread

Much healthier options than the regular refined carbs you see on supermarket shelves.

;)

And forget all the pre-cooked, ready to eat or similar food cos they usually have high levels of fat, sugar, additives or similars. ;)
