Detox continued

I'm not fat by any means but was at the gym last night and noticed I'm getting slightly heavier around the middle (only slightly mind)...but it's worrying - when does metabolism slow down in blokes? Have I reached that point where I can't eat junk willie nillie any more??? 8O

Anyway - Detox day 3 here and still going strong. Just about to go to the gym for a 10 mile cycle ride over lunch. ;)

*smug* *smug* *smug*

Will be looking fitter than a fit thing by June and you'll all want to sh*g me.

I've been trying to shift that weight around my middle forever. Well, when I say try, I mean, erm, think about.

Have been going to the gym now, I can actually see results which is nice and most of my family commented independently over xmas on my HUMUNGOUS GORILLA (non-hairy) ARMS

Male metabolism will slow down, although some people are just thin forever. You'll probably find it disappears pretty quickly now you're going to the gym, especially cos any muscle gain will increase your basal metabolic rate. Start eating a bit less fatty stuff too though, that's just bad for you generally.

I said gooodbye to my flat tummy when I was 18! It was a byproduct of gaining 20kgs over 18 months so I could play firsts rugby, but I've never been able to lose the spare tyre entirely.. Going to try again this year and hopefully I shall be as shaggable as Robder by June ;)

I'd say a guy's metabolism slows down around 30.

I noticed my waistline seemed to change around that time.

I ignored it until last year when i had the c______ and it disappeared in an instant.

Regular workouts and eating sensibly has helped keep my waist trim but it aint easy. In fact, i've cut right down on the weights and do a lot more cardio nowadays.

I'm currently around 13.5 stone, but aim to reach around 13 by the summer with a bodyfat % of between 8-10.

You think that's good - my brother-in-law (one of the uk's top personal trainers) is 4% 8O

I'm currently around 13%, but have a chance to do a fitness mag cover this year, but was told the other day that i need to get down to 6/7% to stand any chance  Tough! Very tough indeed!

Apparently we can all keep it up for longer though 8O

"Middle age adults now have an official name for the metabolism slow-down, weight-gain, loss-of-energy condition that begins in the mid 30s. Medical researchers call it “the somatopause” (sa-mot-a-pause)."

*ahem* Mid 30s!!! Don't write me off yet! ;)

 at Drew and his cover shoot...just thought you'd drop that one in again eh? ;)

I was on the cover of a health magazine once, I had about 20% body fat, so I think they're setting a bit of a high standard for you drew.

It was a mothercare mothers health magazine though. And it was an article about how to work out using your baby boy.

Not really, have you seen those guys abs? 8O

Scoobs will you accept anyone with a body fat percentage of over 20%? I'd say I'm probably in about the 37.5% league
