hi guys and gals,

im new on the forum, ive been reading the forum for about a year or so and thought its about time i joined in. ive been going to ibiza every year since 1999, and absolutely love the place. not just the clubs but everything about the island. im from Wales in the U.K by the way.

anyway, im going out to ibiza for the closing parties on the morning of 22nd september, so il be there for Def Mix on that night at pacha but the party calender hasnt confirmed who is playing that night. does anyone else know? im not sure whether to go to def mix or hed kandi closing at el divino. prob decide when get there. also gonna be going to Defected Closing, Subliminal Closing, and Pure Pacha, all at pacha as it is the best and most beutiful club in the world. plus il be at Space at some point.

so if anyone knows the answer to my question i would appreciate it.

Ive not checked the calendar, mainly cos im lazy! but id guess Def Mix would roll out the big guns for closing
obviously david morales, but id also expect to see satoshii tomie and if you're lucky, frankie knuckles

Def mix is mustard, one of my faves... its a top crowd and not so rammed as subliminal etc
 
I was just having a chat with one of the mods about that this weekend.

I've seen Satoshi Tomiie and David Morales listed for that night (Sept 22).

Satoshi is confirmed but David hasn't added that night to his calendar yet (on MySpace, Defmix sites)

its highly likely that Morbyd is 100% spot on here

Def Mix's night is in conjuction with Saw Recordings

they have been know to close the season with 1 resident from each camp over the last 2 dates

Knuckles and Romero are the 29th
logically Morales and Tomiie are the 22nd (tomiie being definitely there)
 
For whats it worth I think El Divino is the coming club. If you are in Ibiza for a spell you should really check it out at least once. I went to Hed Kandi a number of times last year and have to say it was great fun.
However take note I was at the closing party also and it was not that busy. I guess that is why the closing party is a week earlier this year.
I find if you go to Pacha too many times in the same week it gets tiresome even if the different nights have been good all season. You need to mix it up.
Also the house they play at El Divino is a little more New Yorky than elsewhere on the island and if you are a trance head than dont go there.
Finally dont go there too early, It does not really rev up until after 3:30-4 AM
 
been to el divino few times, last time was 2 years ago for AZULI RECORDS closing and it was dead. although it is such a nice club they dont tend to have many of the big nites except moneypennys and hed kandi.

if morales and satoshi are playing then i think il prob go there. morales was in cardiff a few weeks ago and i went and he was awesome, seen him a few other times too, few years ago at pacha with knuckles.

cant wait to go now tho, 22nd sep cant come soon enough for me and my girlfriend
 
El Divino is a great club, you just have to bear in mind that its alot smaller than the others, and hence on some nights it loses out to the big names, which can sometimes mean its not so busy...

They've got some big names playing there this year though, id expect the MN2S nights to be pretty rammed, Def Mix, and of course Hed Kandi will be packed with the groups of girls on saturday nights...
 
i really like El Divino's location but that really is about all it has going for it. Badly needs an update decor-wise (and that was in 2004).

The MN2S looks decent, and should be busier this year witht he move to Mondays.

Def Mix is at Pacha

El Divino will do ok as they have "mid-sized" nights
good enough line-ups to fill the place
not "stellar" enough to fill a bigger place - ideal for the size imo
