DC10 - even more bad news ! !

Hmmm ok... Some info from Ibiza Voice here:

Authorities shut down DC10 for 1 year

After 2 months of closing, DC10 was ready to re-open next weekend when they received the new sanction from authorities: 1 year closing, and 300 000 Euros fine (the maximum penalty). The new closure concern the legal capacity; 68 persons maximum, as well as sound "pollution".

DC 10 can contest the decision, they have one month to do so. The club should then be able to open next weekend for one month only. As previously mentioned the treat against DC10 is stronger then ever, it could be the last days of DC10 as we know it...

Basically, they didnt have the license, didnt pay attention to the laws, and got found out, its no ones fault but their own.

That's just the thing, it is not a mega club, where models and celebrities can come and have their drinks, it is not Amnesia, Space or Pacha, where the dancers are all wearing suits and coctail dresses, it is a dump, it is a place where people can get down and dirty, it is a place which defines the true meaning of clubbing, to be free, to wear, act, dance and do what you want, where no one will criticize you, because everyone shares the same feeling.

But you failed to grasp that, so, I can only feel bad for you.

Its so sad to see this beloved place going down like this, some of the greatest memories I have is from the terrace with the Red walls, no place will ever be able to match it if it indeed closes down.

Absolutely no place.

Exactly.

If people do appear in the know, its probably because they are. The majority of people who go to DC10 go for the music. Their music.

Not to pose around with posey pop stars whilst listening to funky house.
 
Things in Ibiza have clearly taken a turn for the worse in recent times, i don't mind as ive never been to DC10 as it wouldn't be my cup of tea but it appears they have singled out this club and conviently ignored the others (anyone smell a few backhanders going on)if they keep going like this people will stop coming and go elsewhere.8O
 
as I said this is my first visit, I hadn't planned on visiting DC10, I am only there for a few days and have tickets for Tiesto and Armin on the Monday and Tuesday, but I had planned on popping down to Bora Bora, I just hope they don't get carried away before I get there.

DC10 definately seems to be a target, and it seems they have found the bulls eye with this new closure.

I am glad that the local goverment is looking after it's residents, might not have much of a tourism industry soon!?!?!?!?!
 
Poor wee DC10... News like this is such a shame.
I'm heading out 3 weeks on tomorrow and I have to admit, I'm anxious about what is going on over there at the minute.

before starting all those strange theories about space having something to do with cocoon not opening at 6pm next monday you should understand that amnesia belongs to san antonio and space to san jose..... different laws and all that. i remember pilot or someone else from the ayuntamiento said, after the complains of the san antonio neighbours, that they wouldnt let any big club open in the afternoon anyway.... just venues with a capacity for less than 500 people!! :idea:

Awful news. Although hopefully its gonna be open while im there as they have the chance to appeal it, fingers crossed anyway.

Luckily I made the DC10 experience...there is no such place like DC10/Circoloco...it was a truely unique (clubbing)experience...:spank:
 
guys, guys, guys - let´s not get carried away ...

we´re talking about a club that has been closed for consistently breaking the law over a long period of time. The DC10 promoters and owners have known all along that their parties have been illegal, so it´s hardly fair to now blame the authorities for closing them down ... and god forbid ... proclaim the death of Ibiza !

It´s not a case of being singled out while the other clubs get away with ... the other clubs are legal venues that can now open between 4:30 pm - 6 am.

Space, Pacha, Amnesia, Privilege, El Divino, Eden and San Antonio ... that´s seven top clubs (ok, i use the term loosely lol) alone that you can visit during your time in Ibiza. And all of them will have a really good party each week at least ! Hardly something to panic over is it ?

I have been a regular visitor to Circo Loco over the summers in Ibiza and it will be missed ... but can i remind you that there are dozens more terrific parties that take place every week here that are in no threat of being closed down.
