A boat party we did sailed past him and I felt the boat list to one side as loads of nutted people rushed to the get a glimpse of, as I said at the time, 'just some idiot in a box'.

However, I give him respect for actually doing something different (if pointless) to the other "magicians" and for pushing himself to the limit.

At least he earns his celeb status unlike many of the cattle that litter our newspapers and TV.

There's an idea for his next special.

Locked in a room with Pete Doherty and a kilo of smack for 30 days, the end of which time he would have to make Doherty vanish. It'd be great for ratings
