I will admit to having my ribs tickled, just a touch, by this.

In welshlads2004 defence, have any of us got a life history unblemished by a period of questionable (IMO WL'04 obvs ;) ) musical taste?

 How we mock what once we were

Fact is, no-one starts their life as a music fan being 'cool' (well, apart the current's little sister's 14 yr boyfriend who eschews anything other than underground French D n B as not real enough, man  ). Some just move on a bit earlier than others.

nowt wrong with Adam & The Ants though. Kings of the Wild Frontier and Dirk Wears White Sox are still grrrreat.

Re Dave Pearce etc etc, there is an arguement that if this night keeps those 'uneducated morons'" in San Antoni, theres' less danger of us, 'more enlightened' types, bumping into them.

Everybody is entitled to the holiday they want, y'know

i think u all being a little harsh i love all dance music and just wish trance and house could get along in peace  i cant comment on dave pearce cuz ive only eva heard him on radio 1 but if he ever plays anything off of the 'national anthems' section of his weekday shows he cant be that talented..........

Noone is slagging of trance, or house if you read.
Just dont like Dangerous Dave.
He is log. (IMO)

Why are there some people on these boards that dont seem to want to 'discuss' things but rather force their opinions on other people?

If you like house, you like house. Fine. If you like cheesy trance, you like cheesy trance. Fine. People like Chewie, does it really effect your lives if other people enjoy the music that they listen to and want to go to see Dave Pearce at Eden?

Why dont you keep your sarcy comments to yourself and just answer the original quesion.

For the record, I cant stand Dave Pearce on the radio, BUT I went to Euphoria at Eden last year and saw Dave live at a dance weekender last year, and both times he was absolutely banging. There wasnt a DJ Sammt record in sight. People need to realise he only gets to choose 20% of the records he plays on his radio show. His live sets are completely different. Rant over.

It appears more the case that some people have no sense of humour and cannot take criticism. Nothing wrong with banter. Then again suppose thats difficult at the age of 15

You people are so harsh and ignorant on this subject. Firstly, stop taking the p*ss out of DP's radio show "dance anthems". Do you guys really think he is just siting there banging out all his favourites, you muppets. Radio1 dictate a playlist for most (excluding the likes of tong, seb and jules) radio shows, obviously during the day this consists of a whole bunch of rnb e.t.c. but for DP's show the station dictate that he must jam in all the europop cheesey stuff like scooter. Dave actually does a very good job of filling the rest of the show (where he does have some free license) with some absolute old skool classics (tunes which any fan of house should have massive respect for) and then 15-20 minutes of trancey tunes near the end which the likes of PVD and Tiesto get no grief at all for. I'm sure DP hates ultrabeat as much as you guys if not a bit more as he has to look like the tw*t playing it to ignorant funkers like you. Oh and if any of you knew a bit about the history of the man's career you might actually understand that any fan of dance music of any kind owes this man a great deal of respect as he was massively influential in bringing the sound to the UK's airwaves years before anyone else. As for Dave live, well he basically does a crowd friendly version of what PVD,Tiesto and Armin do, what is so wrong with that you snobby freaks?

Exactly. As I said, Ive seen Dave live twice in the past year, and even though I am not a fan of his, I just couldnt sit around while he was banging out some proper good tunes. Everyone in the place was dancing. And there wasnt a bad mix all night.

And with regards to the point about Dave having to play cheesy trance on his radio show, do you all know that at one of the recent Trance Energy events in Holland (cant remember exactly which year it was), Tiesto actually played the VENGABOYS. Remember them? DJ Tiesto played a tune by them at the biggest dance event on the planet. Yes, it was a remix, but fact remains 'the worlds number 1 DJ' played a tune from a band that has made other songs such as "The Venga Bus Is Coming", "The Venga Song", and many other titles in which you can randomly fit the word "Venga" around. Now, the question has to be asked...if you had to choose...in a world where it had to be one or the other...Ultrabeat or the Vengaboys?????
