Saturday night with Mr Rampling was just a wonderful, amazing experience. Just short of a 1000 people bore witness to a legend taking us through all our LGDP memories and more.
When I picked him up from the hotel I actually think he was a little anxious. By the time he had walked up to the decks I think he realised, just like at Turnmills the previous week, there's a lot of love for Danny.
So what did he play. It would be easier to say what didnt he play tbh...but here are one or two.....
Sunkidz - Rise Up
Kathy Brown - Give It Up (personal fave)
East 57th St - Saturday
Johnnie Corporate - sunday shoutin
Alcatrz - Give Me Love
Raze - Break For love
MAW - Backfired
Knuckles - Tears
Please add any more to the list if you can remember.
While I gazed across all those smiling people havin' it (!) on the 'floor it made me wonder who can replace Mr Rampling. By losing this legend there is a void on our scene.
I'll probably continue this point in another thread sometime but for now Id just like to say thankyou to Danny, not only for Saturday at Hustle, but more importantly shaping my musical taste and making so so many people happy.
