daffers st eulalia

Perhaps Solo can give it a try for us and report back; (To let us know if its open that is!!!) Just for the record Solo, its the opposite end of the street of restaraunts from Daffers and worth a try. It dates back some, and does have some history attached but not sure what. perhaps someone can enlighten us? Not Casper, as hes sure to get irritable no doubt:lol:
Well what can one say, Sandys has for certain got some advertising the last few days!!

I only get irritable Blade when I answer a question and am not believed despite the fact that a) I walk past the place every day and b) I know the owners and a lot of the owners of the businesses around it.

Sandy's was called The Black Horse in the sixties and was owned by a guy called Sandy (who still lives in Santa Eulalia) consequently is known by the locals as "Sandy's". I wasn't here then but I am reliably informed that it was very "spit & sawdust". It did however, have the only telephone in Santa Eulalia and was where the mail was delivered for the area; which is why people like Laurence Olivier and Diana Rigg who had homes in SE then would go there - to make phone calls and collect their mail. As an aside, a large part of the area now called Siesta was originally Diana Rigg's estate. By the time that I arrived on the island it was a French restaurant called Brasserie DeDe. Crispin & Damien took the site over in 2005 and the rest as they say is history.

i think casperslides has answered the question, but will defo be going there for a few drinks will post back.if its closed i will be the one sat on the doorstep drinking cider out of a brown paper bag

No need for that solo1, you can come to our bar - Liquido in the marina , the views are better and the drinks are no more expensive. I don't see why everybody else should get a plug from this thread and not us! :)

i think i can safely say, without fear of any contradiction, that cazza's place is the hippest bar in santa eulalia.

sounds like im having a pub crawl in s e ,will be there from 19th july to 26th july and will no doubt be trying both, hope you make your own sangria and not on tap,i think i have been to your bar before we always have a few in the marina being boat owners here in the uk,god i wish i could talk my missis into movin out there

I have been to Liquido 3 evenings this year and yet to find it open - looks like it's up for sale with all the gear piled up inside.

Daffers was a first this year - went there twice in a fortnight and had excellent meals of sea bass one night and sea bream another - each for only 3 euros over the standard 15.50 for 3 courses - they do a good chicken pate as a starter.
If you are basic English, between 6.30 and 8.00pm they will even knock 3 euros off the price for early birds!

Also while I think of it, didn't see one jellyfish over the last two weeks around Es Cana down to S'Argamassa.

Please Tony, get your facts right before spreading rumours around the internet:

1) We open every evening from eight pm until one am, there is a sign on the door that tells you this.

2) We open seven days a week and apart for a few days in May when the weather was appalling we have never closed since the seasons opening on May 2nd.

3) We have to take our furniture in every night because it is very expensive and wouldn't last five minutes outside when we are closed without being pinched.

4) Unless we are made a ludicrously high offer, the bar is not for sale.

Smacked wrist accepted, with my eyesight I have trouble finding the door never mind a sign on it and I can confirm the appalling weather in May - I will apologise in person in September

Apology accepted Tony, don't worry about it. At least it gave me the chance to let everybody know our opening hours.

Perhaps next time you would be so kind as to criticise our Caipirinhas. Then I could tell you that we are one of the few bars on Ibiza that doesn't top them up with soda water.

Whoops looks like I've done it anyway. :)

and could i mention that cazza's bar is undisputedly the coolest, trendiest bar in santa eulalia by a country mile.
