Crazy car hire prices

Here we go again in August ...

Was going to hop on a plane tomorrow evening for a couple of days. But the only cars I can get working out £250 (BK) - £300 (Atesa) for 2 days. Everywhere else claiming they're full with no cars. That's just ridiculous. I think a lot of people just book cars and don't turn up for them as free to cancel and no penalties.

For me no hire car = no trip and flights + car + (cheap) hotel = £600+ for 1 person before expenses on the ground. So more likely £500 a day. Is Ibiza worth that ? Much as I like it - Nah :D

It's August! Have managed to get a Mini Countryman 4X4 for €240 for 8 days on 06 September with Hertz! Another reason you have to love September!

About £250 for those days. It's been far worse in August on the flights. If I was flexible on return could get it less, but I'd be squeezing the trip in for various reasons so 2 days max. ;) Joke is I could get a bigger car in Murcia for 3 days for 50Euros. But a hotel within 30 miles of where I'd want to actually go round there is minimum £250 a night :rolleyes:.
 
makes me glad for our punto from Hiper for £135 for four days end of August. Good deal looking at Kimajys quotes!
 
£340 fiat panda 15th to 27th july last month. without any add-on insurance. i had 3rd party insurance for £27. moto luis via here. good price. dunno lol
 
if you see the current traffic it's no wonder there are hardly any rental cars available!

Incredibly quiet on the roads in Zante outside the main resorts. Only one on the roads for miles. Was great !

Overall more like Ibiza in April... Sta Eularia and Ibiza Town get busy at times of the day even then. Zakynthos town was choc-full last night, as was Tsivili/Laganas but everywhere else like Ibiza in the off-season. I think the place is full of package-deal tourists sat in resorts rather than people with hire cars/scooters. Masses of quad-bikes tho' - far more than Ibiza.

At that price even if it sits in the car park & you use it to get to your hotel and back it's probably worth having there in case you decide not to get "totally mortalled" every night !

I know, thats what im thinking. 2 x 15 euros airport trips and its nearly paid for itself.
The kid Im going with has never been and if some random parties come along it may be a blessing? Just need to stay of the sauce:(

Friend from work ? :) ... / The eternal battle :rolleyes: - 'true price' of a few drinks can be worse than a bar tab at Lio if you're not careful ! :D
