Well Hull ITU made onto BBC news. From what I hear they been closing other wards at HRI to cope ?

On a lighter note, lockdown highlights how shite some people's internet is when been interviewed by video on BBC. Jesus, restart your routers or be less tight & pay for fiber! ?

Opinions please - if the lockdown is lifted, is travelling morally sound? It's been suggested to me that my potential family Tenerife might risk bringing infection from our badly managed isles to somewhere with less of a problem. I countered not, as we'll need to test negative before departure, but am I just believing what suits?

the bold part. plus, knowing you, I'm sure you'll be all careful anyway. if I were in your position, I'd travel if I could.

Wev been told we have to wear visors now as well as face masks (in addition to apron and gloves)

Such a pain in the hole and I hate the increase plastic waste that all these aprons are creating.

No pal as long as you follow the 'guidelines' then I wouldn't worry what others think and I wouldnt feel morally wrong.

I’d travel.

I don't see it as morally unsound. Like others have said just keep in the guidelines.
Your not doing anything your not entitled to under the restrictions.
This year has been tough for people so a break, regroup of the family and change of scenery is no doubt very much needed by most.

I have a trip to Istanbul in December with work that looks like it could be moved to after Christmas other than that I have no travel plans or will I be making any , anytime soon....

I see no moral problems here. A negative test before departure is enough. And avoid indoor crowds in Tenerife of course. The best way to protect others is to avoid getting infected yourself!

In my view, the individual behavior (avoiding unnecessary contacts) is much more important than the average infection rate in your home area anyway.

Tenerife want your tourism mate. They have already weighed up the risk versus the benefits and made the decision to allow tourists in. If you were trying to get there through an unofficial channel, than that might be immoral. But since you'll be travelling on scheduled flights, with the correct documentation via customs, there isn't a case to answer

DEFINITELY

It's like a day out ffs. Hull is top of leaderboard with 775/100k cases, so you'd think people would try and limit their exposure with mouth breathers?!

A little old lady not realising there where massive queues down the isles just sauntered up to the checkout and tried to jump the queue. 20 odd people all then start shouting, Oi you gotta wait 30 mins like us! ?

Had to pick my car up after waiting 2 1/2 weeks for parts to arrive from Europe (... and the Transition period isn't even over yet  ) ...went on to M&S in Dartmouth and there was hardly anyone in the shop (well worth paying just to avoid the hoardes !). Only thing was about 10 staff were sorting shelves in the middle of the afternoon instead of before/after closing, and you were virtually tripping over them. Plus they were huddled in pairs over ipads having long conversations with each other in the narrow aisles, so much so I had to ask them to move away to get stuff off the shelves around 6 times !!!! If it's not the customers it's the blooming staff !!!!!

Interesting how UK stats are late on days they have press briefings... let me just adjust my tin foil hat ?

Edit: although they do say, don't attribute to malice what can be attributed to pure and complete incompetence ?

this could complicate things a bit in the Canaries... illegal migrants, who I'd confidently guess aren't vetted healthwise before departure. keep an eye on those stats

AFAIK they're all being tested on arrival?
