Guess he's had enough of Whitehouse telling him to shut up ?

For non-US people Fauci and Birx are not politicians and it is considered bad form to use their position to make political statements. But Trump has signaled if he wins he is going to try and fire both of them. They waited as long as they could to minimize impact on the election, and now they are refusing to go quietly.

Biden currently appears to be favored but that is based on mathematical projections, and Trump has gotten to where he is by defying those projections so its very tense waiting for the totals to come in.

I think its fairly safe to assume I'll have at least several months immunity. Mum lives over the road and needs a lot of support, will ease lockdown a lot knowing me or Poppy are very unlikely to infect her.
After having it back in March and the recent updates about antibody levels dropping off fairly sharply afterwards, I’m very much back in the take it super seriously camp and assuming zero immunity is left for me

Totally agree, I'd be the same after 6 months. Will take an educated gamble for the next 2 months, working against the risks of her being isolated (and at 81 with her multiple health problems and not having much time to waste)

Updating as requested

Day 4 from first symptoms. Still aching, coughing and with odd random pains but have definitely had worse colds. Only concern is the anxiety that it will suddenly get worse having heard all the stories

fingers crossed in a few days you'll be feeling well!

Great news if this is true-2 questions spring to mind.

1. If you get a test at airport in Ibiza and it's positive, what happens?Quarantine in a hotel in ibiza- That would be torture.
2. What about flying home? Do you have to have another test?

brilliant news if true, id much rather cough up the coin for the likes of a Boots tests (if a free one wasn't available) than simply have to just test on Spanish soil! I'm just hoping our Gov or private companys don't try to cash in on this making it costly for holiday makers.. after all they should encourage people to safely keep the holiday / travel industry going as much as possible

replied in the gossip thread. but let's continue the discussion here if there's more q's or reactions to it.

I like that they are thinking ahead on these issues.

Like a lot of things in regards to Coronavirus at the minute, every solution seams to throw up two or three extra questions to deal with ?

I understand the reasoning behind this but if you've paid for flights and hotel and then receive a positive test 72 hours before travel I wonder where hotels and airlines will stand with refunds etc?

I know some hotels have cancellation periods very close to the time of arrival or some are pay on arrival but I can't help but think in the 1-2 weeks prior to going away that you're going to be super paranoid about catching covid, particularly when in many cases you can be totally asymptomatic and then having to worry about cancelling/amending bookings!

I suppose it might just become part and parcel of the 'new normal' for the foreseeable but I do have concerns about testing before arrival!
