Coming back from Ibiza and returning to reality..

Went to Ibiza for the first time this year, went at the age of 32 so left it a bit late. Had such an amazing time, doing El Row, Viva Warriors and Cocoon, and me and my mates are all miserable to be back in London, such a crazy place and so much fun. Finding it so tough to get back to reality and just want to be out there still (though to be fair after four days straight was feeling a bit rotten....!) Didn't realize it would be so tough, checking to see if I can make it back for a cheeky weekend later this year. Jealous of all of you who are still yet to go!

You're never too old for Ibiza- well I don't think so anyway! So you certainly didn't leave it a bit late! It's horrid going back to the UK regardless of what you have there as money can't buy the feeling of stepping into a new world and then being back in the hamster wheel of life in England. One thing I've noticed in Ibiza is that all the ladies- even the 50plus age always look amazing and wear great clothes and make an effort! Women here seem to hit 35 and live in nylon leggings and look like they're 60! I like the way that all ages go to the clubs whereas in the UK going in a club ( if they can be called a club!) at 25 makes you feel old! Slightly change of what you originally posted but food for thought! My motto is, if you can make a new life somewhere that makes your heart light and happy, then go! Lifes too short to be only half content with it. Xx

This will be year 15 for me in Ibiza. Have been each year, since - bar missing a couple.

This year for the first time since 2001, I am 2 breaks booked. Next Sunday for six days, and in September for ten.

I am 42 years of age, and don't look old when clubbing in the Island's clubs!

May well feel knackered the morning after, but will mix the holidays up between clubbing some nights, but chilling the others. Will visit some superb beaches, eat some great food and wish that I could do the same 365 days of the year!

Year 17 and over 30 visits for me this year... i used to regularly fall to pieces when i got home but as i've got older and the chemical imbalance hasn't been as bad it gets easier. This year i'm taking the kids and i will be taking my eldest (17) and her boyfriend to Amnesia and the youngest (11) to Bora Bora for a boogie on the beach with only a couple of beers to fuel me.... start the next generations obsession with Ibiza :)

Today I feel worse than ever- 14 months since last visit and still struggling to sell our other property so we can buy in Ibiza. I know this isnt a site for peoples severe depression but believe me I have it... Im looking out of the window at the rain and misery here in Cornwall and want to just jump on a plane and go. I feel every day I am here is wasted, Im not old but Im not that young so this feeling of exasperated & trapped monotony has made me ill. Theres nothing here for me! I want my little girls to grow up happy and in a place they'll love and grow up happy in, not a place they're going to grow up to be miserable in. Its not all about the clubs and partying in Ibiza either, the entire island has so much untold beauty and the people are so different.. Sorry guys but its just a really bad day, like every day really. I need to get away from here for good. We have thought of another family holiday but want to save as much as possible until we buy as even basic flights from Bristol( our nearest airport as Exeter doesn't do Ibiza flights) are as much as an all inclusive holiday alone!!
Apologies for such a despressing post but it can be very lonely Feeling like this and my partner although he is looking foward to the move, gets fed up with me banging on and moaning every day about being stuck here even though he never says so. Whoever said Cornwall is one of the most beautiful places to live has a serious problem..!!! Its the most dead out dated wet n windy place Ive ever had the misfortune of living- which is most of my life ha. I just want to smell the air over there, feel the tension drain out of me, smile, wake up without crying sat on the edge of my bed every morning. Sorry again for such a depressing post...

My first visit was 1988 and bar a couple of years in the early 90's I have been between 1 - 3 times every year since, so probably around 50 odd visits, I stopped counting years ago. Ibiza has an incredible pull for me, I get just as excited before my annual pilgrimage now as I did when I was a twenty something (I'm 48 now). My wife and I together with our friends - another couple of middle aged ravers shall be going this year in four weeks time. We will go clubbing three nights out of four. I don't give a monkey's chuff about age, the way I see it there should be no upper age limit on having fun - you're a long time dead!

Right I seem to have returned to normal a full week on since coming back.

Trying to figure out if I can get out for closing parties....!

I've been every year since 1999, with a few years visiting the island twice. I've seen parts of the island change alot, from incredible Trance nights and space carry on's I first went to in 99' to watching bellends in vests and backward caps stumbling around with balloons hanging out of their mouths. The way I see it if you head out there to take what you personally want from the island it's still the greatest place on earth! I'll be there for the Clockwork Orange weekender in a 4 weeks, flying out on my own as my friends arn't into the scene any more, so i'm not going to miss out and male do sitting in pub gardens all summer long, i've saved the cash and booked a flight! See you on the beach:cool:

I don't know if this is normal if if maybe I've just become a grumpy old man, but the usual post-Ibiza depression has now, for the first time this year, been accompanied by a kind of pre-Ibiza depression. Like, most people with 5 weeks to go are beginning to get rather excited.

I'm the opposite. The fact it's now so close for me is only hammering home how much I hate the daily mundane work life even more and proving what a stark contrast between how I'm feeling now and how I know I'll be feeling in 4/5 weeks. With something so great to look forward to, it's almost made my daily life, which is already pretty grey and dull, even bleaker

Having said that, I know on that last shift before the annual leave kicks in and it's Ibiza time, I'll be buzzing all day and absolutely skipping out of the office come 5pm with a grin on my face wider than Kim Kardashian's ass! :p
