If your football clubs best ever team was denied a place in the top European competiton due to the yobbish behaviour of its main rivals fans, in a horrendous tragedy how would you think of them?
If the same fans who were present at said tragedy then goaded your fans that your shirt sponsors “NEC” stood for “No European Cup”, how would you react? This despite the fact that league title holders Everton made no appeal and in fact were present at memorial services for the dead.
Its disgraceful that it took Liverpool twenty years and the fate of being drawn to Juventus in a cup to apologise to the relatives and club to whom the dead belonged. Even then the apologies consisted of the stance of “We are sorry, let us move on together and forget it”
Imagine if the South Yorkshire Police Force said the same thing about Hillsborough.
There would an uproar the likes of which this city has never seen.
If all that makes me bitter then so be it.

that was a bit of a rant I admit! But Ive had "Liverpool this, Liverpool that" all day off about 50 people , most of whom NEVER go the match!

I've just been a complete TWAT!!!!
Went to see Star Wars, then went to a Bar in B'ham to watch the match.....left at half time thinking it was all over, Three nil down and been playing rubbish and having bad luck with the non penalty, can't watch any more of this i thought
Put a CD on in my car and drove home......
.......Get home and put the TV on and it's 3-3 with 10 minutes to go
