did anyone watch this last night, "zero hour", on channel 5

I can honestly say that it is the most disturbing documentary i've ever seen. what was going through their minds to act they way they did. :( :(

i mean its one thing to think it.........
one thing to plan it.........and then organise it.....
but to carry it out and then,
after looking into the eyes of each victim.....to continue doing it.

i just couldn't get to sleep.............. :cry: :cry:
 
yeah it was preying on my mind last night too, i pretty much said the same thing when I finished watching it. I can't even begin to get my head around it.
 
in many ways i think their actions are worse than say 9/11 terrorists. 1st of all if that bomb had gone off in the cafeteria, the death toll would have been near 500...............but more the way that unlike a suicide bomber, they had to look their victims in the eyes before the killed them (and people they knew as well), proper cold blooded murder.................. and for me the worst bit is that they continued to kill.

i mean it wasn't as if after shooting the fist couple of shots they suddenly thought fcuk, what am i doin.

i'd hate to be a school kid in the states
 
i dont think its possible to actually get in the minds of people like that.

whats equally shocking is that the authorities knew Harris was displaying psychopathic and homicidal tendencies, yet continued to feed him drugs which worsened his condition.

It was very damning of the police, and quite right. I remember thinking at the time watching it on the news, before they had entered, why hadn't they entered the building? Fair enough for about 15-20 minutes while the tried to assess the situation, but 3 hours?

Good programme, but yeah, most disturbing documentary I've ever watched.

its like one of the students said.......there were a million times when it could have been avioided..from teachers, parents, childhood, the day of the massacre, the sit there and do FA police.

another thing that would really be on my mind if i was a student there or the family of the victim is that.........apart from the whole thing being avoided.......the death of any person was solely done to bad luck as well. the killers were totally arbitrary and it wasn't like they set out to kill anyone in particular. even in the library incident......the type of gun the person happened to have, their accuracy, if they felt like it, where u happened to be sitting..........imagine if u went to the library every day at that time but that day u decided not to..........or worse, if u'd never been before and that was ur first time

Yeah and the day they decided to sell guns in supermarkets possibly stands out too...

Ps. Has anyone read In Cold Blood by Truman Capote?

Hickock bares frightening similarities to Harris, whilst Perry Smith is like the Klebold back then. Capote enables the reader to feel some kind of empathy towards Perry, but at the same time, the conflict of this is that together they murdered an innocent family.

An acquaintence of mine, Mark Ames, wrote a book about workplace and school shootings that recently got published. It's called "Going Postal: Rage, Murder, and Rebellion: From Reagan's Workplaces to Clinton's Columbine and Beyond."

Mark's got a different writing style that's sometimes enlightening, sometimes frustrating, but I think it'd be a good read for a critical look into this subject, if you're interested.

i'm defo interested and i'll read the excerpt but since I saw this programme on monday night, i can't stop thinkin about the image of the 2 killers on that CCTV footage in the cafeteria area. its hauntin me a bit and i'm askin myself all these "what if?" questions.

i'm quite an obsessive / all or nothing when i find something that interests me.................but i'm not sure its good for me in this instance.

Its honestly the most disturbing thing i've ever seen on TV.
 
sometimes you can be so shocked and confused by something you want to know more about it. like a morbid fascination (no pun intended!), to try to get a sense of it. I know I can be that way at times.

yeah i'm defo like that.............about 9/11, etc, basically i suppose i'm just interested in history.
