Cocoon closing at Amnesia 24/09/07

Did anyone go? how was it?

For the first time in five years I missed Cocoon :spank: :x

Why were there several different types of tickets? the €55 ones that allowed you in Amnesia before 1am, then after that you had to pay €65 and weren't allowed in past 1am! How on earth can Cocoon / Amnesia charge such extortionate prices? Not to mention €15 for a vodka and lemon!

We left at 11pm and were told by several ticket outlets that only the €65 were left. Meaning we would have to wait around for two hours until we could go into the club. not only this but we would probably have to queue up for hours just to get in. For two people you're looking at £100 before you have even got into the club. It's becoming a joke! :x

How can they charge this much when Danny Tenaglia at Space is free before 10pm, and only €15 after.

Sort it out Sven you are losing your fans! :spank:

I payed 65 for my ticket and got in about 12.30:? but had the best night all holiday left at 6.30 and they were still letting ppl in-mental. Topped the night off watching sunrise from cala llonga cartainly the best thing i did all holiday8)

Was it really busy in there? I heard people were leaving at 3am because apparantly you just couldnt even get to the bar/toilet.

I'm gutted I missed it but we just couldn't justify paying them prices.

We were at the the side near that chill out/bar area and gradually kept getting pushed back managed to find some room beside the left side of the dance floor and stayed there all night8)

it was really busy from early on and packed soon. still, it was not as rammed as cocoon closing in 2005 (that was the worst party i've ever been to, just incredibly packed). already last year they put the prices up a load (i think it was 66€ last year) and it worked - it was still full, but bearable. same thing this year: expensive (55€ tickets were sold out soon, then only 65€ tickets left) and full, but still ok. the party went on til 8:30am and then (if you were lucky) there was this afterparty in a villa near sta gertrudis...

It was crazy busy. The busiest I have ever seen a club. It must be dangerous & there was a chain of ambulances out the back. We were guest list, but still they were charging 30 euros for that. Poor Sven must be struggling to pay the mortgage!

When in there, the first two hours we had (about 12.00 onwards) were amazing, albeit more moody muscley types than I would have like & we were still on a high from a stunning, early evening session in DC10 that we finished early to get to Amnesia.

Then it just got to much, everyone banging into each etc & simply no room to dance, so two of us left at 4 am to keep reasonably fresh. Pacha next day made up for it tho.

If there was a god, falling attendance due to overcrowding would kick them were it hurt, but that is never going to happen.

then (if you were lucky) there was this afterparty in a villa near sta gertrudis...

i've heard that many of the guests there were dressed in blue and green - in response to the good citizens' complaints - and confiscated lots of drugs and cars blocking the roads.

65 euros for no moving and be packing like animals....for the same music that every cocoon has...closing parties are just ridiculous...

it´s a free country - nobody was forced to go ...

does make me question if it is worth just doing June instead of Sep for the cheaper prices and less crowds. Sep always has a good atmosphere but 65 euros is a joke, and tbh I am glad (can't belive I am saying this) that I did not go.

Sven is in London soon and it will only cost about £15, which is about right

June was about the same to be honest, although a less up for it crowd (it seemed) than this week past - it was just cocoon was crazy. Space in particular had a seemingly perfect number in there - full to the brim but not annoyingly so.

we went in June when it was moved to Privledge and it was really good, if privledge had a bigger 2nd room it would prob be worth considering moving, although I do love Amnesia when it goes off

Don't you just love LEIGHTWEIGHTS who cover up their LIGHTWEIGHTEDNESS by moaning about the entry price or whatever ;)

I can't beleive its 65 euro for the party! Cocoon just seems to be getting more crowded each year. Granted, I was there in August this year, but it was soooo packed!

So how long did the afterparty go on for?

right, and that's why i never do a closing or opening...nobody forced me to pay for this....:spank:the same dj's at the same place, but with more people and more expensive....tell me the difference between the cocoon closing and another date, like 10 sept for exemple...if it's only to can say:"i made the closing" for your clubber cv...

meryl - i really thought the closing wasn't busier than when we went in august, i think it was about the same (which is ENOUGH!!!). but ok, maybe i'm just used to jam-packed clubs by now...

the afterparty went till about 8pm as far as i know.

Cocoon Closing was my main night out in Ibiza and it was absolutely unforgettable.
Got my tickets for 37euros, strutted into vip and spent half the night raving it overlooking the terrace and the other half in the main room enjoying the crowd.
It was packed but then it is the closing party for one of the worlds best parties, who wouldn't want to go?
How jokes were the mens loos? All those sweaty men gagging to get into a cubicle with little avail.
