I wouldn't compare it to megamuf, in fact you can't. I've been a few times and its alright. The good thing about cancun is it has everything, but also unlike alot of Caribean islands, its very safe.

The only thing that might slightly resemble megamuf is during spring break, but trust me the women are millions times better than megamuf.

Don't listen to them you will have a great time. If you want more info pm me and I'll try and help.
 
Thats good to hear Liam cos Ive booked to go to. I must admit it was a reluctant choice cos the girlfriend wanted a holiday and suggested there. I said no what about Ibiza but she wouldnt have it as depsite the fact shes been and loved it, she thouught it ws somewhere she would only like on a girly holiday. Apparently according to her Cancun is muich more suitable! I protested and protested but in the end I gave up for a quiet life!

Im absolutely gutted now cos im pining for ibiza so bad Ive beentrying to raise funds to go for a few days with two mates who are going but its not gonna happen.

Cancun might be good and have everything there but I know its not gonna have the vibe, the one thing that exists in ibiza that you cant explain to people who havent been. Probably because its so difficult (for me anyway) to put into words.... :cry:
 
looking at the thread with interest as our current intention for our honeymoon is a week in Cancun followed by 4 days in New York

It all depends on how do you travel there. If you stick in an all-included hotel and you stay all your holidays in the resort I'm sure it's horrible, but it's not Cancun that's horrible, it's the way you spend your holidays.
If you travel around, you visit real places and you meet real people you probably won't think the same.

Don't compare to ibiza, you can't its a different holiday. Just enjoy, explore and make sure you leave the hotel like Silvia said. The buses are dirt cheap and they queue up outside the hotels, so when the weather is moody or you just want to get out, jump on a bus.
Then theres the places to visit, X-caret is amazing, you can swim with dolphins, snorkel, see shows etc etc. Diving is a must, isla de mujeres is stunning. I could go on and on. And the seafood restaurants are lovely.
Nearer the time pm me and I'll jot down some of my recommendations.

Its a hell hole.

No offence to our yank cousins on the board but its full of US college gals & boys letting there hair down in typical 'sports jock' stylee.

Think the OC on copious amounts of tequila/corona.... :lol: :roll: :o

I stayed 3 days before popping the old backpack back on on and getting the hell out of dodge...
