Clubbing atmosphere to change??

Jojo.Xx you clearly didn't spot where a statement was made with the intention of it being loaded with meaning - about which I could go on at length but I doubt anyone is interested - least of all you. If you can't read in the meaning rather than fixating on the notion of people being right or wrong and everything about the "me me me" or whose opinion matters and whose doesn't then fine - leave it.

Bringing decent tracks into an otherwise sh*te context / set does those tracks no favours and just makes what follows sound even worse if you don't like it. Which I don't. The language of my post mildly reflected the effect that set had on me. So if it came across as scathing then that simply reflects the emotions it conjured up and the language used probably illustrates that in a way a trite one-liner would completely miss. Next time I'll just use Icey's rather clearer method of conveying an opinion.

On that note ...

When acid house took off the big attraction was that it was for everyone. No exclusions or judgements. Beer boys were welcome, posh folk, anyone..

I was to young for the acid house scene so correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it the people who was not there for the music that killed the scene?

I think personally I have a lot of tolerance for it most of my friends broke before me but just thought I would see what people thought it :)

The only club, keeps thinking only in music is space, no big vip, no huge separations between common people and rich people, and the only place where the waiters smile you.

thought it was open till 6? we didnt didnt stay till end when we went last year tho

4 last time I went in either 09 or 10... The only reason I haven't been back was the intention was there but things kept getting in the way. Hopefully return this year :)

I understand everyone's moan with "deep house" being cool so it will now be ruined by beer boys etc, but there's got to be a good side to this, I for one never really listened to deep house before and now due to it gaining popularity I have found a love for it, this doesn't mean I'm going to arrive, get smashed and start a fight, it means there is now someone else with a growing passion for the music you love. It's another way the music scene can grow. Eventually all the beer boys will move on to the next craze, but you will be left with some that now share the love you have for the music and that in itself can't be a bad thing surely? You've just got to try and see the good things that can come from it!

Just read through this thread for the first time & some of the posts are ridiculous:

1) How come so many people seem to be scared of "beer boys" and the mass punch-ups & bad attitude which these people supposedly bring with them? Maybe I've been very lucky over the years but coming from Glasgow (by far the most violent city in the UK), and having been to a fair few downmarket clubs over my 16 year clubbing career, even the most drunken "beer boy" would usually offer a handshake as an offer of an apology. Fair enough, a few of the folk on here are Posh-boys judging by some of the chat, but by writing off people because they don't dress in chino shorts, deck-shoes, talk in a home-counties accent etc, it suggests that the attitude problem is on the side of the person moaning.

2) As others have said, you have to deal with things changing. I used to wish things were just like the mid/late 90s, but once I accepted that my personal "golden era" had gone, I actually became more laid back & enjoyed things again. You naturally become much fussier, but that co-incides with a desire to go out a bit less so it usually balances out naturally.

3) At the end of the day, it's just a few nightclubs within a world containing 6-7 billion people. Generally speaking, Ibiza isn't very underground so I can't see why people are complaining. If you go into a club with the right attitude (underground or commercial), you're half-way there to having a good night. So basically, this is another issue that's paritally self-inflicted by the moaners.

If you're going to go to Ibiza, stop moaning, enjoy what is on offer rather than dwelling on what's changed, stop being a wimp & grow a set of balls when it comes to different types of people, and finally remember that the clubbing scene isn't life or death at the end of the day.

.

1) most of the comments about aggro were from me and I am certainly not posh or a boy (lol)
2) You kind of mixed up who people are moaning about :/ I think it's the deck shoe chino wearing people not the beer boys :)

Maybe you are just lucky lol where I'm from you get lots of roiders in pink jumpers with Japanese sleeves and orange girls with lipsy dresses on, platform shoes. A lot of these people get annoyed if you bump into them, spill a drink on them look at them etc they dont tend to go to underground house/techno nights and they like to look good through to the end of the night. Which is fine if that's what they like, but when they start spilling over into underground nights because they've heard they are the place to be, where its sweaty, people are jumping around bumping into each other you get aggro. Maybe not where you are from but 100% where I'm from. Nobody cares who or what is coming to a club, whether you like music or not but people need to leave attitude outside because it spoils it for the people who might have been waiting to see this DJ for a long time - simple :)

I have been going back and forth about going to Ibiza again, late 30s , life is changing rapidly so last swing on the ibiza chandelier is appealing but i was turned off a little on my last visit...number of times i walked back from a club early to hear people along the way comment on the **** crowds wasn't a coincidence. Buying myself a VIP ticket and enjoying the music with my own space doesn't look like a bad alternative at times.

and enough with the ****ing phones people.. the last thing we need is evidence of misbehaviour and messiness. If you've taken too many drugs that your memory is wiped out i might forgive you, otherwise leave them at home.
