Had really mixed reviews about this flick - some people loved it, others hated it.. I'm trying to decide whether to blow £9.50 on it..

My flatmate told me the dilogue was contrived, the plot unbelievable and Natalie Portman as a stripper was disturbing on a number of levels.

It was a disapointment for me. Yeah, I nearly came when I thought Natalie was going to go full frontal, but appart from that, it was a let down.

Its a play that has been made into a film and for me it just didn't work - it defo belongs on stage. I watched it yesterday and just came away thinking that Julia Roberts really has lost her spark in movies, she looks dead behind the eyes, whereas Natalie Portman is fabulous - an exquisite actress.

Where does you mate think he is - the south bank show?
;)

Clive Owen's one liners were fantastic.

The plot was unbelievable? No more so than everyday life is anyway.
I was expecting a predictable rom com, but it was the opposite. Bitter sweet ending, I've agree Julia Roberts was dead behind the eyes, but she was playing quite a melancholy character anyway, so i thought it was fitting.

Anyway after all this dissection you'll be too distracted to enjoy it properly anyway. :?

If your mate has a prob with Nataile Portman stripping - 8O 8O 8O

(that's me speechless)

Might make more sense if I tell you my flatmate is a girl :)

I don't mean to sound like a slut but I didn't see the problem with Natalie Portman stripping, its done quite tastefully ie you don't see anything

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Yeah, my missus thought it was "unneccessary to the plot" - funny that :P

I think my flatmate had more of a problem with how young Natalie Portman still looks..
