Noo mate, understood what you said completely!!

In fact what a lot of people...in fact no-one on this board will know is that im from Jewish descent (surname Jacob) but my old boy & his brother "opted out" so to speak. In fact I often joke with my Granddad about his penny-pinching miserly ways!!!

So...not an anti-semitic bone in my body just a mischeivous little bugger who is having a bit of banter with the Tottenham fans on the board, albeit with a hint of irony!!!

I'm sure you're not anti-semitic at all JJ, in fact as this is a fairly serious conversation (and only for that reason ;) ), I'm willing to admit you seem like a splendid chap. Just need to be bit careful - and yes it's terrible that we live in a world where offence can be taken where it's not meant, but I don't think it's overly PC gone made to suggest that the comic use of a such stereotype on a public message board (without the context above now taken into consideration) is a little careless.

Perhaps I'm a little sensitive because I stopped going to Arsenal as a kid once I found out that the hissing noises made by some fans at games against Spurs were 'comedy' impressions of the gas escaping into the chambers during the Holocaust.

Not having a pop JJ (see earlier reluctant comments regarding my perception of your general character*), just thinks its important that intelligent people take care on such things.

*you're probably a 'Berkshire Hunt' in real life! :P

I'll give you that one!!! ;)

Ithangew!

It was only when reading 'Red Herring and White Elephants' at the weekend that I discovered the truly offensive rhyming slang that is the original source of the rather less offensive 'berk'. Recommend the book, by the way. (By Albert Jack)

Will look it up my man!!

at first glance you would think"red herring" was some ghastly man utd fanzine?? but it isnt!!

on the subject of ahem "hunt" we used to knocl around with a guy who was a bit of a coont, and funnily enough his surname was Hunt...and his surname was Hunt, and his nickname was "rhyming slang"...oh how we guffawed!!

When are you going to stop trawling through my old posts in an attempt to pass yourself off as intelligent to curry favour in the spotlight awards?
