Cigarette Prices

Here's a different perspective Duel_Life - all the taxes and stuff that youi pay our of your salary go to treating people with smoking related diseases - think of that extra cash in your bbank account! And create huge waiting lists for those that have never harmed themselves by smoking in the first place.

I keep stopping and giving up andf stopping......it's a terrible habit.

Cigs in the UK cost almost £5 - thats about $7.50 a pack - I think we've got the highest prices in the world!

I'm sick of governments trying to keep people from smoking.

its the same with everything - smoking too much , drinking too much , eatng too much - they tell us its bad , we know its bad but most of us dont give a $hit.

but alternatively think of all the money that comes from tax on cigarettes, the government could not keep taxes as they are if they didnt have this income, and it is a lot more than what us smokers cost the health service.

Just because it's a bad habit doesn't mean you have to tax the hell out of it! I was in New York last year (where you don't get free healthcare) and also paid about $7.50!

In Moscow, average price is about $1 a pack. Needless to say, I'm bringing 2 cartons to Ibiza next week.

Very good point.

You want to bring a few cartons for me too :) :)

I gladly would, except I think there's a 400 cig limit at customs, and I'm bringing myself 20 packs for 12 days! :)

I tend to smoke more when clubbing...

ar yes the joys of being outside the EU - mind you we get to take 3200 of reduced taxed ciggie's. Its the damn goverment again.

... smoking is quite a holiday culture i suppose i can easily get through 200 on holiday in a week yet if i done that at home id end up looking like this fella >>>

This is a little off topic. Has anyone tried the E-cigarettes? If so what brands or flavor do you like?

I did E-Lites for 6 months. Didn't taste much like normal cigarettes to be honest, but did enough to stop me smoking properly the whole time - although bear in mind your mates and even strangers will cane you, give stupid remarks and all ask to try it.

Ran out and never bothered replacing the refills. Back on the genuine fags now, but will definitely return to E-Lites when i eventually kick it in for good.
