Cheltenham Races

So far 8 horses have died at the Cheltenham Races. Am I the only one who thinks this horrible, barbaric event should be banned?! These beautiful animals are dying horrible, painful deaths because of this "sport". Once a racehorse's leg is broken 99 times out of 100 they will never be able to walk again, so they are shot Why why why are these races with jumps still allowed to go ahead. Makes me so angry :x :x :x

Animal rights groups are urging everyone to boycott these races. The death of 8 horses in one race meet is just disgusting :x

I'm with you Bec, I absolutely despise horse racing, when Tom watches it I can't even be in the same room as it cos it upsets me so much.

The problem is that there is waaaaaay too much money in the sport. The local paper here claimed that the town lost upwards of £60,000,000 the year the races were cancelled due to foot & mouth. I hate the races. Never watch them and rarely go out of doors (except to go to work) during race-week. There's way too many people knocking about and way too many of them drunk out of their skulls.

Cant we race certain spotlight members over ridiculously high jumps instead and take bets on them, I really wouldnt give a funk if they broke their legs!

Geezo Beckiboo, having a flutter on the horses hardly constitutes having ur legs broken! Im not the biggest fan of the whipping myself, but what yeh gonna do! Theres worse things to focus on like Fox Hunting...at least racehorses get treated like royalty when they aint racing!

I didnt say that everyone who bets on the races should have their legs broken I said there's a few people on here who I'd rather see race than horses!
