Chelsea or Madrid??

or this guy??

Am I the only one that thinks that Gerrard is over rated??
£30m???? 8O

Ronaldinho cost £25m (or was it £20m?), Etoo £18m and Deco about £12m.. all of them are better than Gerrard in my opinion.

If Liverpool sell him for anything more than £20m they've done a great deal. The guy had a very bad season last year appart from one or 2 games plus he's always getting injured.
Chelsea dont really need him either, he's too similar to Lampard. Chelsea should focus on getting a decent striker.

I don't know... a midfield with Lampard, Gerrard and Makalele would be nearly uncrossable.

But a striker is definitely first priority, IMH(but correct)O.

Thinking about it, what's Gerrard got to achieve now? What's left to motivate him? Other than the prem league he's won everything you can possibly win as a player playing in England with Liverpool. There's nothing else left to win for him as an English club player.

Now winning the league is a big thing too but it's much more of a club/team achievement for the fans than a personal one i think. The only reason he'd have for staying at Liverpool or going to Chelsea is if he felt the need to complete the 'set' by winning the league and having a winners medal for absolutely everything.

So going abroad (to the 2nd best league in Europe ;) ) to Real seems like the best option for him if he's looking for new challanges....and rather a lot more money which is always a good motivater!

Does Madrid look like an appealing club to football players? :?:

They did a quite good second leg of the league, but did not get any cup, there's lots of intern tensions (too many stars) and they seem to be in decadence

I think any club that's going to pay you £130,000 a week looks good ;)

Also, his bessie mate Owen is there plus Becks and Woodgate too, and like i said , theres nothing left for him to win that he hasn't won already so i reckon he'll just be motivated by £££ and the better lifestyle now.

Woodgate is that famous player who has never played with Real Madrid? 8O

I know, he's living the dream isn't he - loads of money and no work/playing at all 8O  I wonder if he'll be fit/recovered from injury for any games in the new season?

i cant see him going to Real, probably will go to Chelsea.

cant see him doing too well at Real if he did go though. :?

just look at Owen, a player who was WELL OVERHYPED by the English press to be one of the best strikers in the world.
hes good, im not denying that, but the Spanish La Liga is different to the comfort of a league that your used to.
the heat, the pace, the quality of players (theres a reason why the top players in the worlds main destination is Spain), the competition for places, the expectations.
i think it would be too much for Steven Gerrard.

Real should go for Vieira again. my opinion that guy is the best midfielder in the world unquestionably on his day.

from BBC this morning...

Liverpool wait on new Gerrard bid

Liverpool are waiting on a new offer from Chelsea before giving Steven Gerrard the green light to make a British record move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea's opening £32m bid was rejected by Liverpool, but talks are understood to have resumed between the clubs after Gerrard, 25, demanded to quit Anfield.

The Blues are likely to land Gerrard with an offer of £35m, which could rise to almost £40m with additions.

Liverpool may ask for Chelsea's Damien Duff in exchange, according to reports.

Real Madrid have also declared an interest, but it is understood Gerrard has no desire to play in Spain and is only interested in a move to Chelsea.

Lol, the spanish papers say he won't play for another premiership club and wants to move to spain :?

£40M is ridiculous, no players worth that or anywhere near that. If Liverpool get £40m for him they'll be laughing all the way to the bank

£40M is rediculous, no players worth that or anywhere near that. If Liverpool get £40m for him they'll be laughing all the way to the bank

yeah thats what i thought was weird about the press saying the complete opposite.

no way is Gerrard worth £40m.

i can just picture the whole Liverpool board in hysterics when the chairman walks in saying he got £40m for a player who wanted to leave. :D
