if you have the money fly BA from City. It pisses over any other airport or airline experience.

Yeah, it's one of those things, we booked our seats at the time as like the back of the plane. Also, I'm the sort of person that can't relax if not bookedIt's the risk you take!
When booking you are taken to a seat plan to choose your seat. At that point you can see how full - or empty - the plane is. If it's nearly full, then I can't see how prices would go down, unless it's so late that they give away seats to fill them. Likewise if it's empty, are prices too high and they will come down?
And what if it's half-full? Someone out there will have an alogorithm (sp??) which works out the exact time to buy the cheapest air ticket. Clearly if the plane's nearly full, then it's prob best to book at whatever they want or risk losing the flight, but if fairly empty and the price is high, best to wait and try again?
Also thinking hotels must hate this "flexible" charging for flights, if there was a standard price and never higher or lower, I'm sure we'd book there and then, and book the hotel at the same time so the hotels know how many to expect?
I know where I’d rather be for that moneyAgree, it is as close to a private airport as you can get, and the security is great now as no need to take stuff out of bags with the new machines.
However, it is not always that expensive. E.g. The Sunday and Monday afternoon flights are all about bringing back the weekenders, and as not many people fly to IBZ on a Sunday or Monday afternoon you can get a pretty good price. Some July Sundays from £60-70.
Maybe too early to say, but I think there might be some over capacity of flights this year based on some of the prices I am seeing.
Will be interesting if the British cheeky weekend market is strong this year. With Beyonce, Oasis, Coldplay (£200-300 each) have about 30 stadium dates between them, Billie Eilish is charging £300+ for about 8 nights at the o2 - all this has to have an impact?

I'm doing this for my trip on 31st July, when you factor in not having to pay something stupid like £70 for hand luggage(as they actually have the 'old' measurements as standard) then it basically works out the same as the budget airlines for decent timings. I don't think I've flown out of City before, slightly annoying as it's about 1 hour 15 minutes, compared to Gatwick, which I can do in 45 minutes now I've moved, if timed right.
I’ve been using City a bit recently because of a specific route - great little airport. Can comfortably turn up 45mins before a flight and not worry.
To be honest I find Gatwick a breeze these days as well with the new scanners and transport links
yep used it today - 12 minutes from walking in the door to getting to the gate. Helps they now have the scanners where you don’t need to get anything out your bag!I'll be turning up early for a few beers anyway, but nice if it's smooth sailing, assume proportion of business travellers will certainly help rather than unorganized families and fellow drinkers.
