Champions League

Heard that both sets of fans were chanting the other teams name at the end, good to see 8)

that happens at the end of all european games at anfield, just part of the tradition..............altho i didn't hear many "chelsea, chelsea" chants when we beat them in the semi.

did the chelsea fans sing "barsa barsa" at the bridge??

Rijkaards buys this season have not performed

Thuram & Gudjohnsen especially

Ronaldinho is purely loss of form
Deco, however, just doesn't look interested

i don't think the continual swapping of positions helps
Marquez at the back, then midfield
Zambrotta left or right

i agree too. (not too much about Thuram though, he's been decent enough)

As much as i love Rijkaard's philosophy of attacking football, he has been found out tactically. He's still very young and learning so you cant really slate him too much. I mean if we win the league and cup this year (which is very possible now we can focus on it) he wouldve won 5 major trophies in 3 years, not a bad record!

One last thing on this which makes me respect Carragher even more than before, was his words on ITV after the game. Saying that people cant underestimate the great job Liverpool did because he still considers Barca the best club in the world. (not that we've proved it)

we are destined to meet chelsea at some point in this season's competition, how about a revenge semi for the moneymen from the bridge.
Revenge would be sweet, but I really hope not!!

Roma is my next round opponent of choice, though Valencia or PSV wouldn't be too bad. I want to go back to Rome :)

Chelsea were looking a bit flat last night though. Essien came to play, as usual, and Mikel surprisingly bossed the midfield when he came on for Makalele. If they continue playing like this, though, I don't see a trip to Athens in the team's future...

Saw some highlights from the Liverpool-Barca match... wow.

well one thing that has made me respect messi a lot less is his attitude to us since the draw was made. not saying he should bow down before us but he needs to learn when to keep his mouth shut. before the tie he was saying how liverpool were the easiest team to beat and that going to anfield didn't mean anything special or out of the ordinary.

and talk about being gracious in defeat

Y en las antípodas se situó Messi: "Lo hemos intentado, pero no se ha logrado. Ellos se plantaron muy bien atrás y, con un juego feo y sucio, nos ganaron".

Ha ha ha. No! :p
But I'll text you after the match and let you know how it goes ;)

(and do people really eat prawn sandwiches? never actually seen one! )

Navarro has now apologised. Don't think it will be enough to stop him getting a long, long ban, though.

The picture of his fist connecting with Burdisso's hooter will become one of the tournament's defining images this year, I reckon.

i was serious about the tickets! you could earn back some credit by selling it to a real fan!;)

I hope Inter and Valencia get a big punishment for the end of the match. How on earth are they going to ask their supporters to be civilised after that? :?

Anyway, Burdiasso looks a bit confused after Navarro hit him... (sorry, it's in spanish)

I had the big pleasure to meet him several times years ago. I used to work in the summer activites at the school where his kids studied, I was in charge of one of them actually and he used to collect them every afternoon. I was introduced to him by his own son 8)
Brilliant goalkeeper, after Urruti I think he is the fav of the culés.

Unfortunately theres no footage of inside Valencia dressing room, that would be good to see
To be fair Inter Milan have done it before, they were pretty sore losers at Arsenal last season i seem to remember.

I hope Valencia as a whole dont get too badly punished. Navarro should obviously

Grego, nice article there by Zubi.
