Re: Chelsea. Normal service is resumed! :D (I hope!!)

Liverpool in a bit of trouble but it's early days yet and I'm sure they'll go through.

I said from the start that Group D would be tough and it's looking interesting so far with Donetsk in first place 8O

Just back, hungover, very tired and very skint but what a night, adds to the collection of amazing European nights at Celtic Park, atmosphere was electric.

Firstly let me say Celtic fully deserved the win, and anyone who says otherwise is talking rubbish, from the off we had the better chances and more possession, the referee was a sham and was dishing out yellow cards like confetti,Milan players throghout the game were diving all over the place, amazing scenes at the end, super Naka comes on and makes all the difference and sets up a lovely move for Scott McDonald to score, the ground erupted liKe ive not seen since the CL game against Man United earlier this year, i was in ecstasy.

What happened next as everyone knows is madness, some overexcited fan gets onto the pitch and literally taps Dida on the shoulder (i was behind that goal so had a v good view) Dida proceeds to run after him for like 2 seconds then falls to the ground like a fcuking sniper had taken him out:evil: i couldn't believe what i was seeing nor could anyone else, i cant say ive ever seen such an outrageous feigning of injury in a long long time,he stays on the ground like he's been shot and is carried off, unbelievable.

No doubt we will get fined over the silly actions of one over excited fan (and that lad will be banned for Celtic Park for life no doubt) but this cheating cu*t Dida should also be hit hard as in a ban and fine for blatant cheating and trying to get the match abandoned, it wouldn't be the first time he has tried it either, shocking, there should be no room for cheats in the game whatsoever.

Anyway the result was justified, and a big 2 fingers to those who say Celtic would never cut it in the Premiership and wrote us off after losing to Shaktar Donestk.

I'm glad to see the Italians are seeing sense here, they also need to discipline their cheating goalkeeper, a disgrace to the game.
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani said the club would not protest about the fan's actions and coach Carlo Ancelotti said he saw no reason for the result to be changed.
Galliani said: "It's a decision that I've agreed on with president Silvio Berlusconi."
And Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf said the incident was unrepresentative of the club. "Celtic fans are some of the greatest supporters I know," he said.

It's fantastic giant-killing result Jonny, but no-one thought Stevenage were Premiership class when they turned over Newcastle in the cup.

Not to rain on your parade, mate, but a 1-goal victory against an Italian team in the pouring rain in chilly Scotland hardly makes Celtic Premiership material!
Lest you forget, you did lose to Shakhtar Donetsk, who might actually advance from the group stage together with Milan! :p

Like the way you just refer to them as an Italian team, they are the current Champions of Europe and deservedly so as well:roll:

Celtic will get a fine at most.

Great result for both Scottish teams. Can't wait for the 23rd now, Rangers v Barca. I think we'll put Rangers in their place ;) We're back to our best of 2 years ago, even with 4 defenders injured at the moment and Ronaldinho being as piss as last year .

Great game at the Mestalla, thought Cole's pass was outstanding for Drogba (even if it was a handball before hand Morbyd ;)) Valencia shouldve scored a 2nd in the first half when they had the chance. Still, they're the best 2 in the group so they should qualify.

Liverpool may have yop focus on the league this season :?

What about Greece in the Euro Championships?

No-one would call them world class but they won a tournament....

It's true - plucky little teams can sometimes win knockout competitons (even if there is a group stage). That's the beauty of cup football. They'd obviously get mullered over a full season in a proper league but it's great for neutrals and the small teams' fans.8)

Greece deserved to win it, so what if they didn't play "attractive football" they won it and deservedly so.

Now if you'll excuse me i have to find something of the legal variety to help me stay awake to get me through this day 8O

It was a hip-ball!

I read all the major UK papers this a.m. No one mentioned it that I remember, so I'm guessing replays showed Joe Cole didn't handle.

Amazing pass... one paper called it the Pass of the Season which, for Chelsea, it probably was. Can't discount Drogba's work too... great finish on that goal and great through-ball to Malouda to cross on the first goal.

We got lucky a few times that Valencia didn't score, but it's about time we had some luck this season!
