Yeah it's normally Friday isn't it.

I can see us getting Real Madrid. Ronnie coming back to O.T. must be a cert. Were due to play Real. I don't think we've met them in the CL since 2003 when fat Ronaldo spanked 3 past us.

All the British teams did pretty well, although I'd only classify Arsenal's as easy.

Inter v Barça should be an interesting game. Though its probably a little early to expect a classic. All eyes will be on Etoo and Ibrahimovich.

I fancy us to thrash Debrecen ;)

Wow... what a round of matches today!

Fiorentina and Debrecen setting a speed-scoring record
AZ equalizing in the last second vs Arsenal
Rangers getting trounced by Chelsea old boy Dan Petrescu's team Unirea (even if you take back the 2 own goals )
Kiev holding Inter to a draw at home
Sevilla the first team to qualify for the group stage :!:
Barcelona falling to Rubin Kazan AT HOME! <-- I'm supposed to be flying out to Kazan for the return leg
And best of all, Liverpool falling apart after Lyon equalized  <-- I watched this match, with one eye on the BBC and UEFA websites all night long.

You'd think this competition is wide open... and I say that's a good thing!

too many of our players are playing badly..
Alves, Iniesta..Messi.. even Xavi!

We'll turn it round.

Messi has clearly been affected by the Argentina debacle. Just hope his own countrymen wouldn't doubt him.

Will be interesting to see how the Mancs get along tonight without half their first team... and the timely onset of winter chill! I'm going with a friend to the match to cheer on CSKA 8)

Then I'll be racing to the nearest pub to catch Chelsea v Athletico. I hope Madrid's recent slump continues!

Real v Milan the other big game to watch tonight...

From the scoreline, at least it looks like it was interesting.

By contrast, CSKA v Man U was a bit dull. CSKA were well-organized in defense but way too cautious in attack. Man U were the marginally better team and deserved the win, but it was still a bit of a downer when they scored right at the end. And I nearly froze to death at the stadium

By the time I got home to the TV at the 20 minute mark, Chelsea had taken control of their match. Easy win over Athletico.
