CDJ's

Good day, bit of advice pls - i'm toying with getting some very basic CDJ's & mixer, something similar to the below.

http://www.decks.co.uk/products/dj_cd_packages/kam_packages/kcdj130_dm950

solely chosen as they were the first ones that came up on a search.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips - I only want them for my own enjoyment really, so being able to just up the bpm at will to get the beat match is essential - do they all do this? anything else to look out for - I am really at the very budget end as anything else would prob be lost on me!

cheersmedears.

I have 2 CDJ800's Mark I and II! Pitty you can't stretch that bit more as they are great and have BPM counters. I bought one of mine on finance and pay it off over 2 years :) never looked back 8)

There's not much wrong with what you're looking at IMO, it'll get you started just fine.

If you could push the boat out a little more then a pair of Pioneer CDJ200's would be ideal as they are MP3 compatible and, well.. they are Pioneers.

You could pick up a pair for under £500 if you look around.

I agree, if you can try and save some more up, even if it means you have to wait longer to get them. It'll be worth it in the end.

no need to wait longer to get them, you should be able to get them on a finance deal, shop around like i did and you can get them interest free for 12 months, so you effectively pay them up.

if you were a really tight bastard you could pay them up over 12 months interest free, then flog them on ebay for just less than what youve paid on them and get new ones when the warranty is up.

pioneers hold their value extremely well. if you know folk who run nights, you can hire them out too (not that i do this). people always need cdjs.

push the boat out and get some 800s

Thanks for the tips people - had a look, if you mean pioneer 800's, sweet child at 500+ per deck thats a no go! Dont get me wrong, they look the dogs tho..

Cant really justify getting em on finance, missus might have a few questions regarding mortgage etc! So limited to a hit over a couple of paydays, tops I could absorb would be up to 400.

Do you know of a site that compares all the features? I want if poss MP3 compatability & a BPM counter.....am I likely to get within my price range?

Your all on the guesty when I headline WLS opening!;)

To be honest I think recommending 800's to a Beginner Bed room DJ is just stupid. He has no need for anything that professional.
