So saturday night I ended up going to Fabric to meet Kimjay off of here n see Sasha and Max Cooper. Fun night but ultimately music was not up to scratch. As Kimjay had come a long we we stopped off at mine afterwards on sunday to recharge the batteries so to speak.
At some point the discussion turned to the fact I wasnt working this week and wouldnt it be nice to just jump on a pane and get out of here for a couple days. As opposed to just agreeing and it remaining a pipe dream Kimjay said he also had a quiet few days and could be tempted.....
We dared and double dared each other and by that evening we were in Ibiza!!!
The whole journey there was bit of a blur as we hadnt slept and also didnt quite think we were gona pull it off but we made it!
We knew nothing was open so spent the 2 days getting up n at em around 8am and driving all round the island , loads of beaches , the private island , the north/south/east and west , drinks at Atzaro. Literally everywhere. Found some great new spots I'll def be returning to for the summer. Went up the Watch Tower just as the sun burst through the cloud and sunbathed in 24degree heat whilst watching the guy who lives in the cave in the side of the cliff. Had some great seafood at Cala d'Hort , a huuuge amount of Pizza with Nostrum and McRackin in San Rafael. Seems theres so many more wild cats prowling the green fields too in the off season , i guess it gets too hot for them during the summer , we had to swerve one who was lying on the road chilling out n wasnt moving for no one!
It really opened my eyes to all the other places on this beautiful island and I've come back revitalised and clear headed for a change.
Not quite your average after-party but a spur of the moment decision that I stand by for sure. Kimjay I salute you!! (even if we very nearly didnt make it when you 'lost' your passport in barcelona airport haha)

Yes there`s some strange cats around off season We had coffee two mornings in feb with this guy who was always around by our hotel and he said he prefer stay up in the hills all summer only coming down for a quite swim in the evening. It a great feeling getting on the plane in Barcelona knowing you`ll be there in an hour8)

Salut, MiniMarc ! Great trip and would never have got it together to go alone. The passport debacle 15 minutes before take-off was a low point I have to admit.. basically I put it down on the toilet dispenser in a cubicle and wandered off to the gate without it. Was too exhausted to even consider possible consequences - but drew enough attention to myself jogging through Barca airport back to the loos for that nice old guy who went in after to spot me and hand it back en-route to the bogs !

The other low point was plugging in my laptop in the hotel to find it dead on arrival. It's definitely a gonner .. but should be able to caddy the hard drive so all is not lost. 6 days off-line was a bit like going through detox. Must spend more time off-line in future 8).

I'll get it together to put something up later. Be good if you manage to upload those photos too - albeit who forgot their charger and had to ration battery usage, eh ? !!! I forgot my camera too in the fluster to leave packing on the pavement outside your house so they're the only ones we have.

Massive thanks to McRackin and Nostrum for arranging that great dinner at Es Tanco and the drinks at Golden Buddah. The pizzas were amazing and it's nice to eat out with people who really enjoy their food .

Great to see you again McRackin - always a real pleasure - and nice to meet you Nostrum. It's going to be another great season by the sounds of it. Was so nice to experience the sense of anticipation and to be able to spend some time with you both before the real hectic Summer schedule kicks in. Really 8) time all round.

Ibiza in the 8) season. It really was very 8) !
