can u drink in the streets

are u allowed to drink in the streets...better yet if u arent is it enforced at all?...love to walk the streets with a beer in my hand...great feeling
 
To put it straight and in an easy way. No, or the coppers will batter you, trust me on this 8O . (even though they seem to be allergic to beer in glass containers, they don't seem to mind beer in paper cups :?: ) you take your own risks though
 
I know you say you like to walk along with a beer in your hand, and I'm saying this in the nicest possible way, have a bit of respect for the people who's country you are in. There are plenty of places that have outside seating for you to stop and have a beer.

I always feel funny walking about with a beer anyway. In Glasgow, public drinking is completely banned (although when it's sunny, everyone tends to have a carry out in the parks).
 
You are not allow to drink anything in glass bottle in the streets. Anyway, this winter there had lots of troubles around Spain because people bought alcohol, ice and everything and stand in the squares, places and parcs just drinking all night and the next morning the places looked disgusting. From then they are much more strict with this matter.
And, as IbizaLisa said, you have lots of places where you can drink outdoors.
 
I have only seen in done in San An - and normally the people holding the beer, can't hold their beer - if you know what I mean!! Not a pretty sight

... stick to sitting at a table and drinking in a civilised manner in my book. ;)
 
I' ve seen loads & loads of people walking around san an and playa den bossa with drinks in their hands and have never seen the police doing anything about it.

I'm not saying it's ok but you'd be hard pushed to get nicked for it.

It's not about what are you allow or not. It's about doing something that can anoy the others.
 
well, i think drinking in the street is a bit pointless, why not go in a bar and enjoy the music etc?

anyway - in san an a few weeks ago there were a few lads drinking bottles of lager on the walkway in front of Bar M and some coppers came over. i said to my mate 'watch this' thinking the lads would get a telling off.

nothing of the sort! instead one of them pulls out a bottle opener and helps take the tops of the lads beer which they then proceeded to drink while he coppers walked away...

true story...

You can take your drink everywhere. It's not that there is really a law about it. I have never heard anyone say anything about it, but no one stops you when you walk out of Cesar's palace to the Luxor with obviously a drink in your hand.
You can also use chips from one casino at another casino's place. ;)
But ya know, it's not like you see a bunch of drunkards walking around with beer. People in general are just nicely dressed and respectful, with or without a drink in hand.
 
Don't worry about carrying chips around in Ibiza, the police tend to turn a blind eye to that. Last year there was loads of people doing it, I spotted several near BK and KFC. ;) :D
 
in the summer of 2001 got two 6packs and drank it with my buddy while waiting for our room to open up, watching people playing vollyball on the beach on the strip in san an. not only that but in the same time i saw a spanish couple pushing their baby while smoking a blunt, we asked them is that legal they said nobody cares. i'm not Encouraging to do so but it was a nice laid back vibe .............ibiza is hardcore
