I'm trying to organise a trip to Barcelona over the New Year.

I've been there before and loved it but we did more sightseeing than nightlife so I need some help on where you think would be the best place to celebrate the New Year.

It doesn't neccesarily have to be a club. Are there any bars or restaurants that you would recommend? Does the city have any kind of outdoor parties?

Thanks for your help :D

Hi,
Here a BCN resident.
There's always big parties for NYE, but I wouldn't recomend you, too big, too expensive, too many people, too low cost alcohol and too low quality of music.
If you let me know your preferences of music I will give you some clubs, probably the best choice.
Anyway, it will be difficult to know what kind of parties will take place till weeks before.

Hi Silvia :D

Thanks for your reply!

The problem I have is my friends like different styles of dance music so I couldn't tell you any specific type!

I think as long as we find somewhere with a good atmosphere where we can have drink and maybe even a dance that would make us all happy!

There's nothing worse than walking round for hours in a city that you are not familiar with, trying to decide where to go and then ending up somewhere terrible! :(

I will have to ask you closer to the time what's going on.

Are there any restaurants that you would recommend?

What's the Maremagnum (spelling??) area like? Are there any places to have a drink?

Thanks again!

Hi Silvia,
I'm going to be in Barcelona for 5 days before we go to Ibiza and I was wondering if you can give some tips on where to go on Saturday and Sunday nights.
This is the first time for me in Barcelona so I really want to enjoy myself.
I'm looking for a good music nice and trendy people.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much in advance :p .

I would suggest you to have dinner at Oven, restaurant and lounge(http://www.oven.ws). I'm sure they would be absolutly great for New Year's Eve if you make the reservation. Then you can go to MOOG, probably best techno club in the city, and the smallest (http://www.masimas.com/moog/movie.html). But if you are in the party mood you should go to Discotheque (http://www.nightsungroup.com). Last year they opened Discotheque as a techno room, La Terrrazza (openair club just in summer) as a House room and then they also opened Risco (their first hour bar) as an after.
Anyway, I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Silvia I'm going to be in Barcelona in August.

I know, but Boardgrrrl will be in January ;)
Look, I will suggest you to have a nice dinner at Bestial (http://www.grupotragaluz.com/cast/rest2.htm), in the port. Then you can take a walk to Bogatell Beach where there are 3 chiringuitos (http://www.el-chiringuito.com) with nice music, nice sunbeds in the sand and nice people. Around 2.30 - 3.00 you could go to La Terrrazza (http://www.laterrrazza.com/intro.htm), open air club in a very special place. There's a very good techno club called moog at the end of las Ramblas, it's small but cool, the only problem is that in august you will find only tourists. Another good club is Barcelona City Hall, this one in the very center of the city.
Take a look at this page: http://www.clubbinginspain.com
And if it's possible go out on friday better than sunday.
Anything else, just drop me a line.

We were going to do that this year but it was going to be sooooo expensive! Even Andorra which is usually not so expensive was around €550!!!

I have just brought a new car and a new house so I need to keep New Year on a budget

I always go to Baqueira Beret for Christmas Holidays, but I also go to Andorra and French Pirineos. Andorra is like a big supermarket with 6 ski resorts, the most amazing country in the world  ;)
:D

You will have great fun in Barcelona, but as you can imagine it's not the cheapest night.

Cheap flights, cheap accommodation EXPENSIVE NEW YEARS EVE

The only problem with Andorra is that the drinks are so cheap that you get too drunk to be out on the slopes early :p
